Meanwhile, Avian, who was accompanied by Zenith and Misa to the cafeteria, suddenly stood up.
"Lord Avian?"
"Hey, I'm sorry for this, but I need to go."
"I'll go–"
"No," Avian firmly cut Zenith off and turned around, "Have some time with Miss Misa. I need some time alone."
Although unconvinced, Zenith said nothing. He had noticed that Avian was acting weirdly since earlier when they left the hall. Her gaze kept flickering around and she unconsciously bit on her nail, a habit he noticed she had whenever she was worried about something.
Avian, on the other hand, was feeling uncomfortable rather than worried. It may have been her new environment, but she noticed someone staring at her from the shadows.
'Maybe it was my imagination.'
The feeling was persistent, so she felt the urge to run. Her stomach was not doing well, so she left Misa and Zenith before heading toward the calmest place at that time, the library.
Upon opening the door, a vast space filled with rows of tall bookshelves appeared in front of her. Each shelf was packed with numerous books of all sizes and types, and they were sorted out alphabetically.
Avian caressed these books and took a calming breath, the faint scent of old paper and wood made her anxiety ease a bit. She sat down as the warm light from the large windows warmed her body, making her finally smile.
"This is cozy."
"I didn't think I would find you here so fast, is it hard already?"
Letting out a gasp, Avian jumped from her place and glared at the voice's owner.
"Your Highness, I would really appreciate it if you were not as silent next time."
In the center of the library, a man with slightly long blonde hair and beautiful eyes smiled at Avian. He leaned on one of the soft comfortable chairs with a soft cushion and ushered the white-haired female closer.
"I was here waiting for you."
"Is that so?"
"Yes, how else would I be able to come here for you this quickly?"
Suspicious but unable to retort, Avian sat next to him and heaved a soft sigh. She pushed the few strands escaping from her styled hair. After a few moments of silence, she asked.
"Was showing my sensor ability a wise move?"
"Of course," Carlos affirmed without hesitation, "The enemies would like the strongest card to be in their hands. Whether you were physically strong or not, it doesn't concern them. Your ability is invaluable."
Avian bummed, feeling the Crown Prince now leaning closer to her ear.
"And they think you are a man. A strong, young man who possesses invaluable sensor ability, don't you agree that this chance is too tempting to be left alone?"
Sensor was an ability that no one had ever heard of before, but everyone knew how desperately they needed it.
Sensors could be used not only as a scouter, but also as a means to identify new species and the prisoners' abilities, allowing the authority to use the correct method in restraining them and interrogating them.
Naturally, people who had planned to rebel would want such an ability on their side.
Avian sighed softly and leaned her head on Carlos' shoulder, "I simply wanted to go on with my plane, capture Zenith, and regain my grasp on my future. How did I become the center of this?"
'Capture?'
The Crown Prince paused, then he remembered that was the term Avian used on him once she was drunk once.
"Are you planning to seduce him just like you did to me?"
"I have never seduced you," Avian snapped harshly, surprising the Crown Prince. However, he just smiled lightly at her.
He held her closer, his hand brushing her cheeks.
"Did my words make you uncomfortable?"
Her eyebrow twitched, and she slapped his hand.
"It is slander. I never attempted to seduce you, if you don't remember, you were the one who chased me that night."
"That's right, it was me who seduced you. Though, I thought you've forgotten that already?"
"Shit."
After that night, Avian pretended she did not remember anything from what had happened. The Crown Prince knew the truth but held back, and now that he had the chance, he got back at Avian for that.
"You sneaky."
"Thank you, I will take that as a compliment."
Avian wiped her face tiredly but then a question came to her, she hesitated a bit before asking.
"Would you abandon me if I seduced him?"
Silence filled the library for a long while after her question.
