I leaned against the wall by the window. The sun was perched in the clear blue sky.
And the world stood still.
For a moment I thought the world was perfect. For a moment I thought the the world was only inhabited by Larry and I. For a moment I thought, I was not alone.
He straightened his back and retrieved something from the drawer.
'Florante, look here...'
I trailed on his voice and the camera shutter clicked. A beeping sound ensued and a photo came out of the device.
He fanned the film he was holding against the still air inside the room.
'You sneaky little shit, give me that!' I said almost laughing.
Almost.
He squinted his eyes teasingly and said 'If you want it, come and get it...'
I sprinted towards him and grabbed him by the shoulders. He laughed.
We were both laughing while our arms were entwined as I tried to grab the photo from him.
We laughed and laughed and laughed. And I can't remember when was the last time I laughed that hard.
'Larry, you better give me that photo right now or I'll throw you off the windows...'
He leaned closer to my ear and whispered on his husky voice 'You can damn well try, Mister...' since when did his voice change? Larry's voice was a mystery to me.
I grabbed him by the waist and pulled him from the ground where he's standing. Larry's body was as light as a feather in my arms.
'Florante...put me down! Ha-ha'
He jerked desperately and his feet dangled. I lost my balance and we tipped over on his chenille bedspread.
I landed on top of him, hands pinned against his chest.
