Maggie arrived at their townhouse in London the evening before the hearing was to take place.
Percy came out to greet her as soon as the carriage bearing his crest stopped in front of the building.
"Is everything alright?" He asked with a slight furrow on his brows. "I did not expect to see you here again in such a short time."
"Yes. And no," Maggie choked out. "The Crown Office has summoned me for a hearing. I thought you would know."
Percy shook his head.
"The notice was given to you, not to me."
Maggie quickly started to panic.
"Does that mean that I will be all alone in there?" She asked, clawing into both of Percy's lower arms.
"No, of course not."
Percy squeezed her shoulders in reassurance.
"You are allowed to take one confidante. I would say that's me."
"Oh, thank God."
Maggie clutched the front part of Percy's shirt, her hands trembling violently.
"I need you more than ever."
