Chapter 6 - interesting developments

Once Joseph and Henry finally got picked up by Rex who transported all the civilians and resistance operatives that survived the ambush onto their ship they arrived in, Rex would take his two friends back as they would need to explain some things to the people. Just so they won't mess anything vital up.

Not long after the trio left atmosphere in the pelican did more advent show up, the dropships letting basic advent troopers out who immediately began to search the area for survivors. As they did a beam of psionic energy hits the ground and disapates into nothing revealing a tall lanky figure with bluish skin coloration, a hood with a futuristic looming sniper rifle on his back.

His purple glowing eyes surveyed the area around him. He wouldn't normally been here but he caught wind of something interesting on the advent com network, a total wipeout of advent forces. Something that rarely happens when concerning with rebels who use outdated weaponary against their betters with lasers.

This made his life much more interesting now. Ever since he and his siblings was made they had to hunt the humans who stood agaisnt the elders, his creators. Personally at this point he doesn't care about the Elders, their just a bunch of demanding control freaks with nothing better to do in their lives than ruin everyone else's. What he care about now is the thrill of the hunt and to face a worthy adversary, perhaps the only thing he can find common ground with his annoying weeb of a sister. His other sibling though is a major dick rider for the elders, he was certain if given the chance his brother would do such a thing if an elder said so.

He would stop before a few corpses and crouch down, his purple glowing eyes taking in the brutal sight. Such a display didn't phase him in the slightest. No, if anything it was making him think to piece together pieces on what happened. He found the advent officer in charge of the operation with their head exploded into gore.

What confused the figure was the cause of death of the officer. No gun did this, he was certain of this. A gun can cause damage like this but no rebel cells would have a 50 cal rifle or any big fun toys that can explode body parts. How does he know about such weapons? Simply for the fact that he studies human history whenever bored, what else is he supposed to do? Hunt humans? Boring, hunt his own minions? Predictable and boring, it also pisses off the elders which is fun to do but he doesn't want to permanently die. That's just not his style.

The elders made sure to get rid of all the cool stuff when they took over. Perhaps a rebel for lucky but he doubts it was done but a normal human gun, he hasn't found a bullet casing that caused the death of the officer. It didn't take long for the figure to come to the conclusion that the cause of death was pure brute strength.

No human could've done this. No matter how strong a human may get they still have their limitations and not a single person alive can one punch man an advent officers head, no this human had to be modified or it was done by an alien. An alien doing this was unlikely but he wasn't going to rule it out just yet, a berserker has the strength to do something like this when given the right motivation or a target to release their rage upon.

To make this officer head explode would require a ton of force and momentum, that leads to him coming to the conclusion the killer was running fast. So fast a single punch could reduce a head to a pulp, the figure must also be big and beefy as well. A normal human even if they was the fastest man alive is unable to explode another person head with a single punch.

Therefore the figure that caused the officer death has to be huge, potentially even armored as well. "Interesting…..most interesting, at least earth getting interesting again. I swear I was going to try and hunt the elders if I had to keep waiting for something new. What fun this will be to hunt this new foe" the lanky figure said to himself with a growing grin that exposed his sharp teeth.

What the figure learned during his investigation is that the foe that blew up the officer head with a punch was not alone, the minions of the elders found arrows embedded in the skulls of dead advent troopers around the place. The arrows wasn't your typical ones either, from what he could tell by inspecting a single arrow that it was made of high quality material that he don't recognize.

He will admit he's not the smartest chosen around, his sister might know more or his brother. But he won't be coming to them for help figuring out what the arrow is made of. He didn't need to know either because he didn't care. He can already tell that the arrow was specifically designed to penetrate armor with ease, it might take the strongest materials to stop an arrow like the one on his hand. considering what your basic advent trooper is outfitted in, these guys was screwed from the start.

"Hm, must be normal human height to do this but that doesn't add up….the angle at which some of these arrows embed in the fodder heads are strange. As if the person was firing high from a above but that's impossible, no living thing can jump up high. Only way I can see the arrows being fired from such an angle is potentially the person fired from their transport ship, only way I can imagine how a kill like this was made." The lanky figure mumbles to himself, having moved to another body of an advent trooper. Seeing an arrow embedded downwards at the center of the head, but this only left the figure confused a bit.

"Yet some of the other bodies have arrows embed in their face, this person was also on foot. They couldn't have been in a ship while also on foot at the same time which can only lead to one conclusion." He said to himself while rubbing his chin.

"This person has FAIRY ODD PARENTS!"

-take 2-

"This person has mad hops, that or they have a jet pack. Perhaps even boots that makes them jump really high into the air?" He spoke more to himself, uncaring if the fodder of the elders heard him or not as the moves through the former resistance camp. The sound of their guns going off occasionally due to his order.

He was having them 'double tap', a thing he learned from human movies and video games which he thought was quite smart. Make sure whoever you kill stays dead, humans can be quite persistent in wanting to stay alive. Double tapping made sure that wasn't the case.

The next few bodies he inspected when the fodder brought to his attention was one's with signs of plasma damage, burned clean through the chest armor and kiled the target instantly. The same was for all other bodies he inspected with similar wounds, he figures he might be dealing with a skirmisher helping with the two unknowns but he dismissed that thought.

The skirmishers don't have plasma weaponry nor do they have the smarts for it. He doubts any human would want to even help former advent aquire the means of producing plasma based weapons. It's not impossible but it's also highly improbable that outcome is unlikely. Then again today has been full of surprises so he could just be wrong.

Interestingly during his investigation he found large empty bullet casings too big for a normal bullet, immediately he assumed it must've been the work of the person who one tapped the officer head into oblivion with a single punch. The wounds on the advent troopers with gaping holes in their chests helped linked that together.

The lanky figure would stand up to full height, his investigation was done. There wasn't anything he can learn here, he would need to start preparing anyways for a potential encounter with such a foe. His heart started racing, his blood felt it was on fire. He was excited! Something new was happening on this world, something that could potentially piss off the elders and he was always happy to see that. It was something he could try hunting with good chances of loosing, a worthy challenge with worthy foes that are properly prepared.

He must return to his man ca- lair yes his home to practice. "Burn everything, leave no evidence a battle took place" he ordered the purifiers that came from the dropships. He didn't care advent knew a fight took place but he did care if his siblings would find out about the unusual deaths of the elders minions.

He didn't want them to find out so soon for a simple reason, fuck them. Why should he even help them? As he beams himself off back to his base, he briefly heard the sound of the purfiers flamethrowers go off. He couldn't wait to get started on training to face his new potential adversaries.

-scene change to the trio of gooby goobers-

"I can't believe your shit luck made the gas vanish from the pelican, we're lucky the resistance had enough spare gas for multiple trips." Rex said from the pilot seat in the pelican while Joseph simply flips Rex off, making the guardian laugh as Henry shook his head while in his seat.

Before Herny could voice his own opinions there was a sound of a ding of sorts as three screens appear before them all. Good thing the pelican was already going into space, there wasn't anything Rex could crash into and get distracted.

"We have a system?" Asked Rex, not remembering if such a thing ever appeared before them as each of them looked at the screens. All it did tell them was simply about rewards for saving a certain amount of civilians above the win conditions and resistance troopers.

Each reward was different depending on the franchise they came from, Joseph rewards was simply Boltgun ammo and a chain axe with a common rating. Rex simply got blue rarity items being a helmet and boots, Henry simply got a rocket launcher with its respective ammo.

It was a bit underwhelming but they wasn't exactly upset, they didn't save the civilians for a quest reward they don't remember getting. They did it because it was the right thing to do, the reward was an added bonus. "Huh the rest of the rewards is basic furniture" mention Herny with his head off, making Joseph and Rex notice something else they didn't see the first time.

The rest of the rewards was indeed furniture being chairs, tables, even beds. Which was good as the civilians and resistance practically left all their belonging behind which wasn't much, them having to sleep on the cold hard metal floor of the frigate would just be even more uncomfortable. At least now they can sleep on something.

With nothing else on the screen for them they would dismiss the screens, though Joseph summoned his chainsaw axe with a thought and looked at it with some awe. He definitely was going to have to use it to get rid of Xeno filith when given the chance too. He would press a button making the chainsaw part of the axe activate and start spinning (idk if that's how you would describe a chainsaw blade in use), as soon as he turned it on he lets go of the button making it shut off. He wanted to play with it in a more ideal space than being cramped in a pelican not meant for him.

So far things was in their favor, they succeeded in their first victory against Advent and now they need to obtain the next one. But first the trio needs to help settle the civilians down inside the ship and explain as much they can, just so no one blows up the ship by accident for touching something they really shouldn't.

———————————

Heyooo, I am having a massive brain fart rn cause I swear I put a system introduction in a early chapter but can't find it. I swear I'm loosing my mind rereading my work trying to find it.

If I didn't then allow me to explain the system here real quick that I have in mind, I might even just remove it if does more harm to the story than good.

The system is pretty basic, the trio of goobers don't have gamers mind or body, they won't get level ups and stat points to get OP considering their already OP.

Guardians are broken as hell in destiny lore, you gotta see the lore vids or play destiny 1-2 to see what I mean, space marines even basic ones are OP with their usual equipment. I have no need to provide the usual Gamer system to them

The system I have in mind works to give rewards depending on the task at hand and the severity of it. Like for example fighting one of the chosen would grant higher tier rewards. These rewards are simple being respective weaponary and gear from each franchise the person comes from.

Like for example Herny could get himself a lightsaber if he gets lucky orrrrr Joshep gets a thunder hammer. The higher the reward the better loot? Easy to understand I hope^^

I'm still thinking on something special for Henry, considering being a death trooper might underwhelming when your friends are basically a demigod super soldier and an immortal with fancy powers.

As usual please have a nice day and stay safe:3
