Chapter 35 - Break

After Wijaya gave his friends suggestions, he immediately returned to his seat.

"What do we want for lunch?" Rudi asked when he saw Wijaya had returned to his seat.

"Anything, as long as it's filling, I'm not too picky about food," Wijaya replied again.

"Do you want to invite Irina and Lily?" Rudi asked again.

"You can invite them if they want," Wijaya replied, not objecting to Rudi's suggestion.

"Okay, then you wait a moment," Rudi then went to meet Irina and Lily.

Not long after Wijaya finished his books, he saw Rudi coming towards him accompanied by Irina and Lily.

"Let's have lunch, Irina and Lily want to join us," Rudi said to Wijaya.

"Okay, then, let's go out," Wijaya replied, agreeing with Rudi.

So then the four of them went down from the 4th floor where their class was located to go downstairs for lunch, this time they used the elevator.

In the elevator, the four of them then chatted again about where they should have lunch.

"What do we want for lunch?" Rudi asked.

"I'm free" Wijaya replied.

"How about we eat fried rice?" Irina suggested.

"Okay, I agree," Lily replied, agreeing to Irina's suggestion.

"If you want to eat delicious and cheap fried rice, I know where it is" Wijaya gave them suggestions for a place to eat.

"Okay, let's go to the place recommended by Wijaya". Rudi replied

So then with Wijaya's guidance they went towards the back canteen of the campus where the stall selling fried rice was located.

Walking for a while, they soon arrived at the back canteen where rows of food stalls were neatly lined up, where various types of food were sold.

And one place that looked inconspicuous at the back of the row of stalls, said Nasi goreng Madam.

Seeing the food stall, Wijaya was reminded of the past when he came to this food stall, he still remembered that this food stall was introduced by his seniors in the community.

At that time after the activities in the community, those who were hungry were invited by seniors to this place, where they then found out that there was a stall selling delicious fried rice there.

With a friendly fat middle-aged woman as the seller, who has the nickname madam.

Madam is known as a kind and friendly seller among students and the price of food sold at her stall is very friendly to the pockets of students.

So the place became crowded with many students.

Not long after they arrived at the stall, inside the food stall several people were seen sitting and ordering food.

On the other side in the kitchen of the stall, a fat figure of Madan was seen busy making orders.

Choosing an empty table that could accommodate four people, then Wijaya invited Rudi, Irina and Lily to sit there.

Taking the menu on the counter table of the stall, Wijaya then asked them to order food.

"Come on, order this menu" handing them the food menu.

Not long after, Rudi became the first person to order "I want to order 1 plain fried rice with iced sweet tea as a drink" Rudi told Wijaya his order.

"I'll have special spicy fried rice, drink iced orange," Irina said, telling her to order.

"I'll have spicy fried noodles too, drink iced orange" Lily also told Wijaya her order.

As for himself, Wijaya decided to order boiled egg noodles with rice, as for his drink he chose iced plain tea.

After receiving all his orders, Wijaya went towards the counter where he would give his order to the madam.

"Madam, I want to order" Wijaya's voice was heard calling the madam who was currently making food.

"Okay, wait a minute" the madam's friendly voice was heard.

Not long after, the madam came out carrying two plates of fragrant fried rice.

"Order two portions of spicy fried rice" a sour voice was heard calling the customer who ordered the food.

Not long after, a male student came and took the order.

"Thank you for waiting young man, what do you want to order?" Asked the madam with a friendly smile.

"I want to order 1 plain fried rice, 1 spicy fried rice, 1 spicy fried noodle, and one boiled egg noodle with additional rice.

As for the drinks, two iced oranges, one iced sweet tea, and one iced plain tea" Wijaya mentioned all his orders.

"Wait a minute, let me count first ... .7+8+8+10+3+3+2+2= 43 dollars" the madam mentioned the amount of Wijaya's order.

Handing over a 50 dollar bill to the madam, Wijaya soon received the bill and his change.

"Here is the bill and this is the change of 7 dollars, please wait a moment for your order" replied the madam once again in a friendly manner to Wijaya.

Then Wijaya immediately returned to his table, and handed over the food order receipt to the madam.

Looking at the receipt, Rudi said "you're right, this price is cheap, compared to others, in my area one portion of fried rice is already 10 dollars" replied Rudi in response to the receipt handed over by Wijaya.

(The price in the city of Detos tends to be cheaper compared to the price in the city of Nusa which is the capital of the Patih kingdom, where Wijaya's university is located)

Not long after they immediately replaced the money that Wijaya paid for their order.

As for Wijaya who saw the price on the receipt, he also agreed with what Rudi said, that this price was similar to the price near his house.

Moreover, when he saw one portion of boiled noodles with additional eggs and rice priced at 10 dollars, Wijaya had to say that it was cheap and affordable.

Added to the price of Rudi's sweet iced tea drink which was worth 2 dollars, it was really cheap.

He still remembered that in the future, one glass of sweet iced tea would cost more than 5 dollars.

(Please do not equate the dollar in the story with the price of the dollar in the USA, the value of the dollar in this story refers to the nominal value of the Rupiah in Indonesia, the use of dollars in the story is only to facilitate the story itself.

While waiting, the four of them then chatted about where they should buy the course books that their lecturers asked them to complete.

"So have you decided where you will buy the books?" Rudi asked Wijaya, Irina and Lily.

"Of course I'm in the university cooperative," replied Wijaya.

"I don't know yet, but maybe in the university cooperative too" replied Irina.

"Where to buy books, it's easy to determine, but the question is when do we want to buy books? Do you want to buy them together?" Lily asked while answering Rudi's question.

"I'll buy them tomorrow," Rudi answered after he thought for a moment, thinking about what Wijaya said in the previous class, about there being limited supplies in their university cooperative.
