Chapter 32 - Ideals

While they were chatting, their drink orders soon arrived, and a few minutes later their satay orders arrived.

Now in front of the four of them was a portion of chicken satay with additional rice cakes and rice served with additional fried onions on top.

(Chicken satay is a traditional food from the Patih kingdom, made from pieces of chicken, beef or goat, which are cut into finger-sized pieces, which are then skewered into small sharpened bamboo slats.

Before being skewered into small bamboo slats, the satay is first seasoned with various types of spices and a mixture of fragrant spices.

Which will make the satay tender and rich in flavor, when the satay is eaten later.

The process of cooking the satay uses a method of grilling using coconut shell charcoal that has been used as embers as fuel.

Because the quality of coconut shell embers is good and long-lasting, and produces a fragrant aroma, this coconut shell charcoal is a favorite for grilling satay.

After being cooked, the satay will be served with a mixture of ground peanut sauce or sweet soy sauce seasoning with the addition of fresh agar consisting of small chopped shallots and garlic with the addition of small green chilies.

"If I may ask, what is the reason you took this literature major?" Wijaya asked his friend while they were eating.

"I, because both of my parents are guilty of a teacher background so they asked me to choose a profession similar to them. In this case I happen to like Literature so I registered, so that later after graduating I can become a Literature teacher" replied Rudi answering Wijaya's question.

And also told Irina and Lily about the reasons why he chose the literature department.

"Wow ... you want to be a teacher, that's amazing, that's a noble ideal" replied Wijaya, impressed with Rudi's reason.

Although he was also aware and knew that this was the profession that Rudi would work in the future, he would become a literature teacher in elementary school.

Then Lily also answered "if I because I like teaching too so I want to be a teacher, just like Rudi" Lily expressed her reasons too.

"As for me, I just want to be a good literature graduate, because I like reading novels," replied Irina with a little embarrassment.

Hearing the answers of the three Wijaya felt familiar, because this was the real reason for the three of them who entered the literature department according to what was known in the future.

"As for me, I want to be a great writer in the future, whose work can be enjoyed by many people around the world," replied Wijaya in a serious tone.

This time he really expressed what he had always wanted to achieve, regardless of his failures in the future, he had decided that in this time he would become a great and famous writer.

The three of them who heard Wijaya's reasons or ideals were quite surprised by what Wijaya said, they did not expect that Wijaya would think of such ideals.

"Ehhh… amazing Wijaya you want to be a writer!!" Rudi was quite surprised by what Wijaya said, because in the Patih kingdom being a writer was something that rarely happened.

Because most of the professions that were in demand in the Patih kingdom were doctors, soldiers, police, civil servants, businessmen, lawyers, and teachers.

As for writers, they were very rarely liked because the effort to become a famous writer in the Wijaya kingdom was not easy, because the censorship of the work was quite strict.

So that it makes the works that are circulated more controlled and also not too many types.

"Wow ... you want to be a writer, that's great Wijaya " Irina on the other hand was amazed by what Wijaya said, she knew in her heart besides being a novel lover she actually also wanted to be a writer, but her family clearly forbade it so she could only keep it to herself.

"I didn't expect your ambition to be a writer Wijaya" Lily was also surprised by what Wijaya said.

"I know that being a writer in our kingdom is not a good thing, or in other words it is very underestimated, but I just like to write a lot of ideas and also thoughts that I have.

Maybe with the writings and ideas that I write there are people who become enlightened because they read them, and in the end I can help them.

So I feel this is a very interesting and also commendable profession "Wijaya replied again sincerely, in accordance with what he thought.

Although he also realized that every writer has his own reasons.

"You were wrong, my friend, it's just that our environment may not support writers widely, so don't be discouraged," Rudi expressed his sympathy to Wijaya, because he was also aware of the stigma.

what a writer in the Patih kingdom has.

So he really appreciates Wijaya who sincerely and bravely mentions his dreams, even though in the future he doesn't know whether Wijaya can realize his dreams or not, he doesn't care because for him a man must have dreams and they need to fight for them.

And those who have dreams are worthy of being friends, that's what Rudi thought after hearing Wijaya's attitude.

"Okay, let's not talk about me, let's change the topic" Wijaya felt that he had told enough about himself so he asked them to change the topic.

So then the four of them started talking about something else, at their dining table at that time, the discussion they were talking about was none other than.

What activities will they choose to follow after the notification made by their supervisor.

Because even though there are many activities on their campus, basically they have to investigate these activities first so they can decide.

And in the end the four of them agreed to find activities that had similarities with what they were studying.

And in this case of course Wijaya who knows what activities they will follow in the future, then proposes an activity that leads to literature.

And this refers to the activities of poetry, theater and novel associations, which are on their campus.

And basically it is the only literary activity owned by their campus on a fairly good scale.

So then they made an appointment to find information about the literary association.

In the end Wijaya, who saw that the time was already 01.00 in the afternoon, said goodbye to them.

Because he needed to pick up Celine at her school around 3 pm, so he took the initiative to part and meet again the next day on campus
