Chapter 38 - Drifting Thoughts

Bai Yu´s thoughts drifted. "Though I've reached the Bone Forging stage," he mused, "revenge against Stormwind Island will have to wait. I'm still no match for even a novice Xiantian Realm expert." The Xiantian Realm, the pinnacle of the Mortal Realm, marked a crucial threshold in the cultivation world. Upon reaching this stage, a cultivator could single-handedly overpower hundreds of Bone Forging cultivators – a stark illustration of the immense power disparity.

A wave of sorrow washed over Bai Yu as his thoughts drifted towards his homeland, the Blue Tempest Island. He could still see the horrifying scene – his home, reduced to smoldering ruins, the screams of his people echoing in his ears. His fists clenched involuntarily, the memory of his father, nailed to the very walls of his own clan by their enemies, a constant, burning reminder of his loss. Grief gnawed at him.

Shoving aside the crushing weight of his grief, Bai Yu steeled himself and turned his focus towards the future. As an outer disciple of a branch of the Azure Sword Sect, he now had the option of taking the inner disciple exam whenever he felt ready. Additionally, his hefty reward of 10,000 contribution points opened a door to a wealth of resources that could significantly accelerate his cultivation progress.

Bai Yu rose from his meditative pose, his body invigorated after two days of focused cultivation. Spiritual energy crackled faintly around him.

A knock on the door of his new countryyard startled him out of his reverie. He opened the door to find a familiar sight: his former roommates, Ye Ming, Wu Feng, and Leng Wu. But they weren't alone. Chu Yao, Chu Ming, and Liu Ning stood beside them, their faces alight with curiosity."Wow, this place has a huge garden!" Ye Ming exclaimed, his eyes wide with wonder as they took in the sprawling grounds.

Bai Yu, a genuine smile gracing his lips, ushered them inside. The evening unfolded in a flurry of laughter and conversation. They reminisced about old times, shared stories of their recent experiences, and reveled in the camaraderie. Wine flowed freely, accompanied by a delicious feast. The tranquil countryyard echoed with their joyous chatter until the first rays of dawn peeked over the horizon. With a shared sense of contentment, they bade farewell, promising to meet again soon.
