Chapter 8: Teaching the Unteachable... A Sword Lover

'I need to save Gandara!' Ruthar thought, turning sharply to Gandara, who still kept her head down silently, awaiting the next order.

Just as he was about to call out to her, he felt a tight tug on his shoulder, pulling him back to face Taenok.

"What's wrong? I think you've been reading too many myths, scholar!" Taenok laughed kindly, patting Ruthar on his side, and assuming it was a mistake.

"The dark runes are not real, just elven stories to scare kids," Madara spat out with a sigh, folding his arms, ashamed to see a royal act so impudently.

Ruthar heaved at his own stupidity. What was he thinking? This was still the early stage of the novel.

'The odds of anyone knowing about the dark runes are as slim as hell. For now, these two must still be good guys, so there's nothing to worry about.'

Ruthar took his time to fix his composure before forming a fake smile at Taenok.

"We want you to kill the stubborn spirit in our little sister, you see, Lord Ruthar," Taenok whispered to Ruthar, jolting him.

So they came all the way from their kingdom just for this? That didn't check out.

"But why? I'm not yet an exorcist," Ruthar replied innocently.

Of course, they knew that.

Taenok, getting the message, knew he had to be clearer, "My sister is a stubborn goat and refuses to learn from any teacher we bring to her. She either smashes them in the groin or pulls the females' hair until it falls out..."

"As much as I love watching women my age getting their clothes ripped off, it has gotten quite out of hand."

Ruthar smiled inwardly, 'I like your taste, Taenok. This guy is interesting.'

"I understand, but why pick me?" Ruthar asked. 'Wait, does this guy want her to shatter my balls? Vile bastard.'

Taenok closed the space between them and whispered for only Ruthar to hear.

"She said she wanted a young scholar with a very handsome face, and when we brought different tapestries of young scholars, she picked you. And I see why," Taenok stretched his hand and caressed Ruthar's hair slowly.

"Your red hair fits beautifully with your gorgeous face. You almost seem elven, if I might say."

Elves were the most beautiful, calm creatures on the planet so this was a great comment to say go Ruthar.

And that was what struck pride into Ruthar's soul, being called cute enough to match the elves.

'I love this guy! I love elves! Wait... How did they get a tapestry of my face when I am secluded? Does this mean I am being watched carefully?'

Ruthar began to ride in suspicion but there was not enough time to think about that, so he displaced the thought for now and carried on with the matter at hand.

"So, might you accept the offer? Please, for our sake," Taenok bowed his head a bit in respect to Ruthar.

So respectful that Ruthar wasted no time agreeing."Yes, I promise to teach your sister," Ruthar bowed too.

This alliance would add significantly to his future plans.

Without a second to waste, Taenok signaled to his escort, and they set into action.

Moving to the carriage, they opened the door and spoke a few words in elven language, words Ruthar could barely decipher.

After that girl stepped out from the carriage walking foward till she met with Taenok and Mandara.

She was taller than him and probably two years older, with long white hair just like her brothers, a very cute face, elf ears, wearing a beautiful gown and a very mean expression.

"I'm Elara Nightshade, daughter of the House of Diamond," she introduced herself before strengthening her stare at Ruthar and screaming, "Don't disrespect me, you squirt! Can't you greet back?"

"Sorry, I'm Ruthar. Nice to meet you." Ruthar bowed before straightening up and putting out his hand for a handshake.

Elara first glared at his hand before grabbing it with both her hands and stabbing her sharp fingers into his palm.

In shock, Ruthar managed to pull back his arm in a struggle and held it to himself, "Shit! What was that for?"

Elara raised her hand and, without a word slapped Ruthar across the cheek.

'Two heartless attacks at the same time! What kind of hotheaded witch is this?'

Ruthar wrinkled his brow at her and was set for revenge. He dropped all the respect and feigned honor he had been flaunting ever since, raising his own hand and thrusting the slap of a lifetime into Elara's face.

"Ahhk!" she exclaimed as her face bent slightly and her cheeks reddened. Her expression went blank, and her white hair fell in waves.

'Che! This three-year-old bastard is too weak to land a proper slap!'

"You squirt scholar!" What came next was a fist Elara drove into Ruthar's nose, sending a cracking noise and throwing him back first to the ground.

"AHH-hkkk!!" Before he could get up, Elara's bottom landed on his head, pinning him in place.

"Tsk!" Ruthar struggled to break free, but this young girl overpowered him in every way possible. So he looked toward her brothers for help however...

They were already turning around to go without saving him. Truly, they had dropped him with a monster...

"Bye, brother Mandara! Brother Taenok!" she waved, still sitting mercilessly on Ruthar's head.

Taenok waved back and smiled, "Take care of your tutor."

As if he omitted the show of suffering Ruthar underwent, he was truly heartless to act as though he couldn't see him.

"I'm already at it," she replied joyously.

'What the hell! So this was what he meant by witch... I can't spend two hours with this girl; I'll die if I do... Help me... Her ass is like a rock pressing on my head... I feel like my brain's gonna pop.'

"Please get up!" Ruthar finally mustered the anger to scream out with high hopes she would listen.

Elara only growled, ignoring him until he pleaded for several minutes. Then she stood up and glared at Ruthar in disdain. He immediately grabbed his head with both hands and massaged it.

As a kid he believed his head was still hardening and with the compression of Elara's bottom on it he felt the need to reshape his skull quickly...

"What kind of man hits a lady? You're a stupid scholar!" she proudly proclaimed instead of an apology.

Surely, this was already more than a handful to curb now; what about the next few weeks? Thinking about that made Ruthar gulp twice.

"So, when are you going back to Diamond Horus?" Ruthar hoped to at least hear two weeks with all his heart.

Elara on the otherhand took time to process his question before replying, "Six..."

'Six weeks, Arigato! I can manage that long! It will only delay my plans a bit...' Ruthar smiled inwardly.

"Oh, sorry, six years."

'Six years!' The darkness in Ruthar's eyes vanished as he heard Elara say. 'Whoever is writing this script, I think I am ready to die now! Another transmigration is needed.'
