If there was anything even more annoying than not having a plan, it was watching the one you had being jeopardized. I was almost certain that Ethan was going to be killed, but for some reason he had survived. And above all, that idiot Jerome had been captured. It was the worst possible outcome for me.
With Jerome in custody there was no telling what was going to happen. Knowing Damian, he was definitely capable of torturing and breaking Jerome down until he spilled the truth. And if that happened, then it would certainly be the death of me. Jerome knew far too much, and the last person I wanted him to speak to was Damian.
The thought made me growl in fury as I slammed my fist on the wall. How dare those fools?! They had the gall to stand in between me and my birthright, and now they were even making me this cautious.
