I refused to believe the sight in front of me. This was all a dream right? There was no way any of this could be real, there was no way my son was dead, I refused to believe it.
I wasn't going to cry, nor did I plan to be sad. My son was not dead, I refused to believe it and I wasn't going to let anybody convince me otherwise.
"I'm so sorry, Hayley—"
"Don't Damian!" I interjected sharply before he had the chance to finish his sentence. Why was he apologizing? Why on earth was he sad and all gloomy? Our child was still alive, and I wasn't going to believe anything else besides that. There was no need for the tears and sympathy.
