Hayley
I left the library, but Ethan's words refused to leave my head. I was in a tight corner at the moment, and it seemed there was no way for me to get out. There was nothing I could do about the spreading rumors, and I just couldn't find myself asking that man for favors.
Lost in my thoughts, I bumped into a sturdy figure, the last one that I wanted to run into. The apology on my lips disappeared the moment we locked eyes, and all I could think about was running away from his sight.
"Hayley..." Alpha Alexander drawled out lazily, a little smile playing at the corner of his lips. "Is something bothering you?"
I stared at him with hate in my eyes, unsure of how to answer the question he had just asked me. He had the audacity to ask me if something was bothering me after everything he had done? This man definitely had some guts, and I couldn't tell if it was bravery or unconscious ignorance at this point.
