Chapter 83 - Chapter 83: More?

"Corviknight, blow away the smoke! We need to assess the situation now!"

"Caw!"

Following Summer's command, Corviknight flapped its wings forcefully, dispersing the smoke. Xurkitree's black cables stretched out, trembling, with sparks flickering at its metal-like fingertips.

"As expected, Rillaboom, use Grassy Glide, then follow up with High Horsepower!"

"Boom!"

Rillaboom darted toward Xurkitree like a dark green lightning bolt, kicking it to the ground. Its entire body then glowed with an orange aura, and it smashed Xurkitree into the ground with its earth-infused fists.

Xurkitree's black cable-like arms fell limp, and the flickering electricity dissipated.

"That was close! Rillaboom, get away from that thing!" Summer shouted, sensing something was wrong.

Xurkitree's body emitted countless glowing spots that dispersed into the air, causing the surrounding space to distort.

Rillaboom leapt back, quickly returning to Summer's side. A powerful energy tore through the space, creating eerie rifts in the sky.

"Ultra Wormholes! Not just one, but four! That means at least four more Ultra Beasts, possibly even more!" Summer exclaimed in surprise.

Corviknight's beak dropped open. From Summer's words, it seemed they were about to face at least four more of these dangerous creatures. Was there another expert?

Then it looked at Summer, wondering if they should run away.

"Wait a bit longer. The Ultra Beasts emerging from the Ultra Wormholes might not necessarily be our enemies," Summer said, placing a hand on Corviknight.

Huh? Summer, have you lost your mind from fear? These creatures can't possibly be our allies—they're downright bizarre, not normal beings. Well, they are invaders from another dimension.

Suddenly, the ground trembled. A massive cuboid fortress landed. It seemed like a creature composed of countless stone blocks, each with a blue glowing eye.

Next, a crimson mosquito-like Pokémon with bulging muscles flew out of the Ultra Wormhole, flaunting its muscles filled with liquid. Its head had a sharp, seemingly indestructible needle.

The third Ultra Beast was much smaller, resembling a folded paper figure. Its flight produced a sound like slicing air, and its edges seemed extremely sharp.

"Phew, luck is on our side. At least half of the Ultra Beasts won't be our enemies," Summer sighed in relief. Besides the fortress-like Stakataka, the other two Ultra Beasts had connections to the forest.

Buzzwole resided in the Ultra Jungle, while Kartana lived in the Ultra Forest. Summer's inherent friendliness as a ranger should prevent them from attacking.

But since they were from the Ultra Space, this ability might not work on them. Thus, Summer had sent Totem Lurantis and the Fomantis away earlier, also evacuating other forest Pokémon to avoid them getting caught in the crossfire.

Then, the fourth Ultra Beast appeared, coincidentally landing on Stakataka.

It was enormous, pitch-black, with a giant mouth on its abdomen that seemed capable of devouring anything. Two black tendrils, each with a mouth, extended from its body, roaring loudly and drawing the attention of the other three Ultra Beasts.

"The last one is Guzzlord. Among all Ultra Beasts, it's the most dangerous. Its insatiable hunger will consume everything in sight!"

Hearing Summer's description, Corviknight understood. Should they run now?

"Why do you always think about running? We might have needed to, but now that Guzzlord has provoked Stakataka, it's a one versus three situation. We should watch and see how it unfolds."

Corviknight watched Stakataka, whose blue eyes were now flashing red, clearly enraged. But the other two didn't seem particularly aggressive.

"Buzzwole, don't you think that black thing is a perfect opponent for a strength contest?"

"Kartana, don't you think that black thing is a perfect target for your slashes?"

The two Pokémon turned to the human speaking. He was gripping the wings of a dark bird, with a muscular gorilla-like Pokémon by his side.

Hmm, this guy doesn't seem like a liar, and he has a strong Pokémon with him. He must be trustworthy.

The sharp gaze of Corviknight watched as the two Ultra Beasts faced Guzzlord. Stakataka collided with Guzzlord, who swung its tendrils, slamming Stakataka against a tree.

Strong enough!

Sturdy enough!

Now, the two Ultra Beasts had no doubt about Summer's words and charged at Guzzlord. Buzzwole swung its muscular arms, landing a heavy blow on Guzzlord's abdomen, pushing it back.

Kartana then swiftly circled around Buzzwole, leaving a deep gash on Guzzlord, making it howl in pain, further exciting the two Ultra Beasts.

It can withstand my punch without exploding?

It can withstand my slash without splitting in two?

Before Guzzlord could catch its breath, Stakataka descended, crushing it. How dare you step on us? We hate being stepped on!

Stakataka stomped on Guzzlord, who had never suffered such humiliation. It spat out a black wave, pushing Stakataka back. But Stakataka didn't mind; it was the least afraid of being hit.

Buzzwole and Kartana fought over attacking Guzzlord, ending up fighting each other. This prey was mine! I'll deal with you first!

Stakataka continued its assault on Guzzlord. Tortured by hunger and filled with rage, Guzzlord vowed to devour all these creatures!

It launched a chaotic attack, hitting the other three Ultra Beasts. In its confusion, it stepped on Xurkitree.

Dazed from pain, Xurkitree suddenly awoke. It remembered finding a place to recharge before being attacked. It must be these guys.

Ambush me? None of you will live!

Xurkitree unleashed a powerful electric current, illuminating the entire jungle. The other four Ultra Beasts were severely hit, turning their attention to this new opponent.

Thus, a chaotic battle ensued among the five Ultra Beasts, attacking indiscriminately, heedless of life and death.

Summer, Corviknight, and Rillaboom had already retreated to a safe distance, silently observing the growing chaos.

Corviknight wished for sunglasses and popcorn to enjoy the show. Now it understood: the real expert was Summer!
