It had been several days since Duke Shaughnessy and his forces arrived in front of Lembah Valley at Euphrates's eastern border. Hundreds of werewolves had poured out from the valley since then and caused the duke's army to be pushed back into the province, making the demons slowly regaining their grounds on Euphrates.
Refusing to back down, under the advisement of Baron Leonardo, the duke ordered the thousands of soldiers at his disposal to set up a large half-circle barricade around the mouth of Lembah Valley in order to contain the advance of the werewolves.
Unfortunately, all the duke and his forces could accomplish was to slow the demons down.
Though they outnumbered the demons, the duke's forces could not keep up with the werewolves' strength and speed. When fifty soldiers tried to surround a werewolf to take it down, that single demon would wipe all of them out with ease.
