"I will lead 20 of our knights to Stonewall and exterminate each and every single one of the gargoyles without any casualties." proclaimed Evelyn in front of her parents.
Bryce and Hannah stood up in anger.
"NONSENSE!"
"YOU'RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE!"
Evelyn smiled at their reaction, "Do you perhaps think I'm not capable enough to do so?"
"Why? Are you planning to use that new spell you used to get rid of the lich? Do you remember what happened after you casted it?"
"For Einsof's sake, you passed out after casting it once, darling!"
Evelyn nodded to their concerns.
"No. I won't be using that spell. Even though my mana vessel has recovered and I've accumulated some mana since then, I will still experience the same side-effect since that's how powerful the spell is."
Evelyn then looked to the Stonewall letter.
"And even if I wanted to use that great spell, considering how gargoyles hid themselves and their numbers in Stonewall, I would need to perform the spell at least several times to completely exterminate them. I can't afford to do that currently."
Bryce nodded strongly, "All the more reasons you can't go!"
Evelyn chuckled at her father's comment. She was amused by how her parents thought that argument would deter her.
"But that doesn't mean I'm unable to lead our knights to exterminate the demons."
"YOU'RE NOT GOING, EVELYN!" stated Hannah firmly.
"Are you becoming reckless because your mana vessel has recovered? Exterminating the gargoyles is different from what happened in the pilgrimage. Especially since you won't be using the spell from the family grimoire." said Bryce to his daughter.
He proceeded to lecture the One Einsof Chose to lead all of His creations in the war against Satan's army, "There'll be combat involved. Tactics, strategy. Simply having an abundant amount of mana and knowing some spells aren't enough to defeat them, Evelyn!"
"And the knights needed to trust their leader, darling. How can you lead the knights when we're not even sure you'll be able to defend yourself?" said Hannah to the God's Chosen One whom once journeyed to the greatest depths of hell to defeat Satan.
Despite her parents' strong concerns, Evelyn smiled, shrugged, and proposed another suggestion to them.
"Then why don't you both try fighting me?"
Hannah and Bryce's jaw dropped to the floor when they heard their daughter's preposterous suggestion.
"What did you just say?" asked Bryce calmly while on the verge of fury.
"Have a mock battle against me. The two of you against me, your daughter." said Evelyn. "If you win, I'll stay. But if I win, you'll have to approve my suggestions."
Bryce and Hannah slammed their hands on the table and stomped their feet.
"RIDICULOUS!"
"THIS DISCUSSION IS OVER! YOU'RE NOT GOING!"
The two parents walked away, not wanting to hear any more words from their daughter.
Evelyn sighed at her parents' reaction.
"(Well, you both leave me with no choice…)"
[Holy Arts, Angel's Embrace First Form, Basic Shield]
Suddenly, Bryce and Hannah's body were enveloped with white aura that it caught their attention.
"What is this?"
"What's happening?"
Evelyn raised her hand and directed it to them.
[Bara Arts, Fire Lance]
Two balls of fire manifested above Evelyn and each of them flew in the form of a lance towards Bryce and Hannah. Striking them right on the head, knocking the two on the floor.
The servants watching them hysterically screamed at this sight.
Bryce and Hannah got up right away and glared at Evelyn.
"EVELYN! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!"
Evelyn smiled and pointed to their heads.
"Your face should've been scorched by now if you were hit by the Fire Lance spell. But as you can see, the two of you are still perfectly fine. I'm sure you didn't feel any pain either."
Bryce and Hannah examined themselves and realized Evelyn was right. No harm whatsoever was done.
"You both didn't take any damage because I casted a shield on you that would prevent harm from any basic attack. It's quite a taxing spell for the current me and it won't do any good against a gargoyle's claws, but it will be strong enough for a casual battle."
"What is the meaning of this, Evelyn?"
Evelyn walked closer to her parents so they could hear her more clearly.
"We'll cast this spell on all of us during our mock battle so you won't have to worry about hurting me. Since I'm sure that's your biggest concern." said Evelyn to her parents. "Though me being able to cast this spell alone should be proof enough that I'm able to defend myself."
"Even if you're able to cast this shield, the goal is to exterminate the gargoyles." said Bryce. "And you just said it yourself, this shield is useless against gargoyles. So you still need to come up with a way to defend yourself from them AND kill them."
"Then fight me and I will show you what I'm capable of."
Bryce and Hannah shared a look. The two of them wanted their daughter to stay home so she could remain safe.
Meanwhile, Evelyn wanted to lead the knights to exterminate the gargoyles.
The two parents sighed. They knew words could not solve this issue anymore.
