Chapter 15 - THE GRAND PLAN

Evelyn put aside the Leonardo Grimoire and reached to a drawer on her desk. From there she took a large pile of blank paper.

"(Now that I've finished studying the Leonardo Grimoire, I have acquired full comprehension of the Primordial Arts. I now understand its importance as a fragment of the Descendant's Heel and its significance in God's Ancient Covenant.)"

Evelyn grabbed a paper from the pile she took out from the drawer.

"(In my previous life, I began my crusade to defeat Satan in the year 985 of the Great Bara Calendar.)" thought Evelyn. "(Many things had already happened before then. Including the death of Evelyn Leonardo and the loss of the Primordial Arts, the last fragment of the Descendant's Heel.)"

The young lady turned her head to the looking glass beside her. Einsof's Chosen One stared at the new self God had given her.

"(But now I'm reborn as Evelyn Leonardo in the year 970. 15 years before the start of my crusade in my previous life.)"

Evelyn formed a fist with her hand.

"(Things can be different this time. There're many lost lives I can now save. Many tragedies I can help prevent. Satan's plots that I can now foil! All the things I couldn't do in my previous life!)"

Evelyn then reached for her writing tool and placed it on top of the blank paper.

"(It is now time for me to formulate my grand plan. A new grand plan to properly construct the Descendant's Heel that could defeat Satan and fulfill the Ancient Covenant!)"

With that declaration, Evelyn started writing on the blank papers laid on her desk.

Unlike when she was studying the Leonardo Grimoire, Evelyn was much more focused, or rather, consumed, writing her plan that she even skipped training and sometimes her meals.

"(Leonardo Army Reformation…. The Lost ChampionThe Old Capital Raid…. Mortalia ArtsDescendant's HeelDivine Intervention)"

One pages. Two pages. Four pages. Ten pages.

"(United Banner…. Methuselah's TombIscariot Grimoire)"

Evelyn wrote and wrote. Her entire being was dedicated into formulating the Chosen One's grand plan.

"(Great Forest ConflictDesert Valley CrisisAncient Giants)"

One pile of paper. Two piles of paper. Three piles of paper.

"(The Fall of the WallDragons of the East…. The Fated Flood)"

Evelyn wrote so much that her room was crowded with stacks of paper.

"(Those Over the SeaPromised ExodusGreat Tower of The Southern PlainsTrue AbandonmentFinal Campaign….)"

Evelyn's mind was so occupied with her writing that she even forgot to sleep.

After spending ten days of writing, Evelyn found herself moments before dawn. At this time, Evelyn finally wrote the last sentence of her plan.

"(and the Descendant's Heel crushes Satan's crown, ending his reign for eternity.)"

Evelyn put down her writing tool and let out a long sigh. She took a moment to bring herself to realize that she had finished formulating her grand plan.

The Chosen One formed a smile.

Evelyn stood and walked through the stacks of paper filled with writings of her meticulous plans for the future and made her way to the middle of the room.

She snapped her fingers, suddenly enchanting all of the papers in the room. They floated to the air, flying around Evelyn.

The papers flew around in circles, positioned in the order they were written between one another.

With the papers floating around Evelyn, enabling her to see all of them very clearly, she looked at her work with great satisfaction.

Evelyn waved her hand and the Leonardo Grimoire floated from the table to her grasp.

"(Using the knowledge from my past life and my understanding of the Primordial Arts, I have formed a grand plan to accomplish my goal as God's Chosen One. My new course of action to defeat Satan is finally set."

The sun was rising on the horizon, illuminating Evelyn's room with its golden radiance.

Evelyn gazed the ball of light with eyes full of determination.

"(It is now time to begin my move.)"

At the same time, southwest region of Euphrates Province by the Jibril Mountain Range, in a small town of Stonewall under the domain of the Leonardo Barony, people of Stonewall were just starting their day.

A farmer, a blacksmith, and a tailor met up at the town square as each of them were on their way to work.

"Morning!" greeted the blacksmith.

"Morning!" replied the farmer and tailor.

"Have you heard the news from Alstate?" asked the blacksmith.

"That's the city where Duke Shaughnessy lives, right?"

"Yeah, the Lord of Euphrates Province! What news came from there?"

The blacksmith walked closer to the farmer and tailor. He hunched as if he was about to tell them something secret.

"Well, you know my son is serving as a squire for the duke, right? Recently I got a letter from him saying that the knights in Alstate are being dispatched to evacuate some villages along the eastern border of the province."

"Why would they do that?" asked the tailor.

"Don't tell this to anybody because we don't want everyone to panic, but my son told me the duke received a report from the Empire's eastern border patrol that there's a huge pack of demonic wolves seen entering the country."

The farmer and tailor gasped in disbelief.

"Demons?! That's terrifying!" said the farmer. "I already heard from the farmers in the Gihon Province that there were also hordes of demons forming in the Empire's northwestern border. There're so many demons over there that almost the entire Imperial Army is gathering at that side of the Empire!

"Now we have to worry about the ones on this opposite side of the Empire!"

"Oh Einsof! It seems there're more and more demons getting into Mortalia as each day passes." said the tailor. "Oh I hope my order of that special fabric from Galle has already been shipped. That village is on the eastern region too, you know!"

"Well, let's be glad that Stonewall is on the western side of Euphrates." added the blacksmith. "It's a really long way for those wolves to get here."

A loud terrifying screech suddenly interrupted their conversation.

"What was that?!"

Those three people alongside everybody else on the square looked around to see what was causing the sound.

"UP IN THE SKY!" shouted the farmer.

Everyone looked up as pointed by the farmer and they spotted numerous winged-creatures flying towards the town from the mountain range in the distance.

The townspeople were filled with terror as they sensed the doom those flying creatures were about to bring to their home.
