Taro began to plot against Hiroshi, seeking to undermine him and win Aiko's hand through deceit and treachery. He bribed local officials, spread rumors, and even attempted to sabotage Hiroshi's standing with Lord Takeda by fabricating evidence of disloyalty.
Hiroshi, unaware of Taro's machinations, focused on planning his future with Aiko. They spoke of their dreams, their hopes, and the life they would build together. However, the mounting tension in the city began to intrude on their happiness.
One evening, as Hiroshi walked through the marketplace, he was ambushed by a group of thugs. They attacked him viciously, and though he fought back with all his strength, he was eventually overpowered and left for dead in a narrow alley. Fortunately, a kind-hearted healer named Kenji found him and brought him to his home to recover.
While Hiroshi lay unconscious, Kenji sent word to Aiko, who rushed to his side. She spent days tending to him, her love and care aiding in his recovery. When Hiroshi finally awoke, he was filled with gratitude and love for Aiko, but also with a burning desire to find out who had orchestrated the attack.
