Chapter 139 - Chapter 140: Li Liusi: Can We Not Break Up?

Shen Lang sighed quietly and got up with a forced smile, saying, "It's fine. We can always buy a new computer. Did you get hurt when you fell?"

Shen Lang wasn't a saint with boundless compassion. He was still pretty mad about the situation. The computer had not only several tens of thousands of words worth of drafts but also a Valentine's gift from Su Lexuan, plus some cool gaming videos and high-level screenshots that he had saved.

For a gaming enthusiast, these things were as precious as a collection of figurines to an otaku. But what could he do? It was an accident, and there was no point in making a bigger deal out of it.

Li Liusi, already nervous about Shen Lang being upset, was now crying harder when Shen Lang comforted her. Her tears made his shoulder damp.

"I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to. I just wanted to clean the desk," Li Liusi sobbed.

"It's okay, it's okay. It's just a computer," Shen Lang said, holding Li Liusi and patting her back gently.

"I was thinking about buying a new one anyway. So you kind of helped me make up my mind. When I have time, you'll need to come with me to buy a new computer, okay?"

Li Liusi nodded quietly, too embarrassed to say much, and just agreed.

[Ding! Li Liusi's affection for you has increased by 10 points, now 70 points. Keep it up!]

"Alright, did you hurt yourself anywhere?" Shen Lang asked as he checked Li Liusi's wrist, noticing some bruises. Looks like she took quite a fall.

"Go change your clothes. We'll get some liniment to help with the bruises," Shen Lang said, wiping away her tears. "You're off tomorrow, right? How about we go to an internet café tonight? I need to do some writing, I haven't updated yet."

"Sure," Li Liusi agreed.

After she left, Shen Lang dismantled the computer's cables, planning to take the main unit to a repair shop and have the graphics card removed. Even if it was broken, he didn't want to throw away Su Lexuan's Valentine's gift. It would be a nice keepsake.

"Well, maybe this is just the price to pay for being a bad guy," Shen Lang said, standing with his hands on his hips and looking at the scorched computer with a bitter laugh.

...

"Wow, buddy, did you pick this computer up in Syria or something?" the repair shop owner joked while taking apart Shen Lang's burnt computer.

Shen Lang just smiled, while Li Liusi beside him was anxiously fidgeting, worried about his reaction.

"Here, I took the graphics card off," the owner said, handing it to Shen Lang with a sympathetic look. "This card was recently installed, right? As someone in this business, seeing this makes me cringe. It's such a waste. Why keep it? It's a hundred percent unusable now."

"It's fine. I want to keep it as a memento. Just hang on to it for me, I'll come back for it tomorrow morning," Shen Lang said, paying and leaving with Li Liusi for a nearby internet café.

Luck was on Shen Lang's side as he found an empty gaming booth on a busy Friday night after dinner with Li Liusi.

"Hey, it's been a while since I stayed up all night," Shen Lang said, relaxing into the comfy chair and feeling a bit better.

Li Liusi, sitting in the booth, looked nervous and hesitant, glancing at Shen Lang.

Shen Lang ordered snacks and drinks and then asked, noticing her discomfort, "Why the long face?"

Li Liusi nervously asked, "We're not breaking up, right?"

On the way to the café, Shen Lang had been unusually quiet, which made Li Liusi worry he was considering breaking up with her.

Shen Lang was surprised. "Why, do you want to break up?"

"No, no!" Li Liusi panicked and shook her head. "I don't want to break up. I really like you."

If it were before, Li Liusi would have blushed and looked away, embarrassed by her own words. But now, she earnestly pleaded, "Can we please not break up? I really don't want to lose you. I know I made a mistake."

Shen Lang was at a loss for words. "Why would you think I want to break up?"

Li Liusi, with her big, tearful eyes, said, "You seemed so upset and quiet all the way here."

"So if I'm in a bad mood, we should break up? What kind of logic is that?"

Shen Lang was amazed. "If that were true, our relationship would be too fragile."

"Then, let's not break up," Li Liusi said, holding Shen Lang's hand and apologizing sincerely. "I promise I won't go into your bedroom again."

Li Liusi, with her innocent nature and limited experience with other guys, often had to guess Shen Lang's feelings based on her own insecurities.

"Don't be silly. If you see I'm upset, I need some time to get over it," Shen Lang said, holding her slightly cold hand and comforting her. "I'm human too. It's not like I can just snap out of it."

The incident with the computer had really affected Shen Lang, and he needed time to deal with it. He couldn't vent his feelings on anything else, so he was trying to process them internally.

"I'm sorry," Li Liusi said, still feeling guilty about the computer issue.

Seeing that words weren't helping, Shen Lang leaned in and kissed Li Liusi's soft, rosy lips, smiling. "It's okay~"

Li Liusi, with mixed feelings of relief and surprise, looked at Shen Lang, touched by how he cared for her.

"You know, when I kissed you just now, I noticed there's actually a camera in this booth," Shen Lang said playfully. "Maybe the café owner saw everything we did."

Li Liusi, taking a bold step, kissed Shen Lang again, her breath a bit quick. "As long as I'm with you, I don't mind."

"Lucky for me, neither do I," Shen Lang said, stroking her cheek and kissing her deeply again, his hands starting to wander.

Just then, the booth door opened, and the café staff entered with a tray of snacks and drinks, their eyes widening at the steamy scene inside.
