Chapter 99 - Chapter 100: Who Told Me to Date a Nerdy Boyfriend?

Elf Girl: "No way, no way. Yours is too cartoony—it looks like it's for middle school. Let me find some good ones instead."

Su Lexuan immediately recognized that it was a couple's profile picture, but she wasn't interested in changing hers.

However, she wasn't into the whole "two-dimensional" culture or fan of anime, so she wasn't keen on using such cartoonish profile pictures.

After sleeping until daylight: "Oh baby, let's just go with this one! I really like it; I looked for it for so long!"

Since she'd promised Li Liusu to use this profile picture, Shen Lang didn't bother finding another couple's picture for Su Lexuan and instead convinced Li Liusu to put it up.

Elf Girl: "Fine, I just can't argue with you. After all, I did choose a boyfriend who's an otaku! {smug}"

Shen Lang noticed that both Li Liusu and Su Lexuan's profile pictures had changed to a "cat-eared girl asking for a hug," so he quickly switched his to a "handsome, sunny guy" to match.

Looking at his friends list, seeing two identical couple pictures, Shen Lang felt a mix of tension, guilt, and a strange, indescribable thrill.

Is this what it feels like to be a "player"?

Elf Girl: "Shen Pig, can I come over to your place to hang out this weekend?"

After sleeping until daylight: "Sure, sure! {devilish grin}{devilish grin}"

Elf Girl: "{knock}{knock}"

After chatting for a while, Shen Lang drove to Fulong Mansion Complex, a luxury villa where he planned to move when he had more time.

Waiting by the gate, Shen Lang leaned against his car for a few moments until he saw Li Liusu walking out.

The weather was cool today, and Li Liusu was wearing a light, white sweater with skinny jeans and a comfortable pair of sneakers.

Her outfit was both stylish and cozy, perfectly showing off her golden ratio figure.

Especially with her white sweater hugging her curves and her long legs in jeans—it all made Shen Lang's heart race.

But Li Liusu herself wasn't entirely comfortable with this outfit.

Shen Lang had splurged on these clothes for her, and she was worried about damaging them by accident.

When she spotted the familiar Mercedes and the man beside it, her delicate face lit up with a happy smile, and she jogged over to Shen Lang.

"Wow, you look gorgeous—I almost didn't recognize you."

Shen Lang praised her genuinely, then noticed her hair was tied up in a simple bun, which made him frown slightly.

The simple bun hairstyle reminded Shen Lang of middle-aged women, who often wore it for convenience.

Li Liusu was barely twenty, with such a pretty face and figure. A hairstyle like that felt totally mismatched.

He didn't want to sound rude, so he smiled and asked instead, "Why don't you let your hair down next time? I like how it looks when it's down, or even braided like when we first met."

"Alright."

Li Liusu didn't think much of it. She gently took off the hair tie from her bun and put it in her pocket.

A cascade of dark hair fell over her shoulders like a waterfall.

Just then, a soft breeze blew by.

Her dark hair, now free, danced in the wind with grace, each strand moving as if alive.

This poetic moment, combined with her lovely face, was truly captivating.

Shen Lang reached out to touch her soft, shiny hair and couldn't help joking, "With hair like this, it's a waste if you don't do a shampoo commercial."

Li Liusu wasn't quite sure how to respond to such playful praise. Although she felt happy, she shyly asked, "Where, where are we going?"

"I'll take you to Aoyuan Plaza, and we'll have lunch there."

Taking her anywhere near Zhuhai University or Century Plaza was out of the question with Li Liusu.

Getting spotted by any student from Zhuhai University would be a risk.

In the future, wherever he took Li Liusu, he wanted it to be far from Zhuhai University, as much as possible.

"Alright."

After they got in the car and Li Liusu fastened her seatbelt, she said softly, "How about… I pay for lunch?"

"Hm? Why?"

Shen Lang looked at her with curiosity while holding the steering wheel.

"It's the money I saved up for my grandma's medical bills, but we don't need it now."

Li Liusu explained seriously, "You've helped me so much. Grandma said I should treat you to a meal as thanks."

"I see. Sure, then—I'll let you be the one paying today."

Shen Lang didn't refuse but reminded her jokingly, "But I eat a lot. Are you sure you brought enough?"

"Mhm, I have money on WeChat."

Li Liusu answered confidently.

"Why are you still using that old phone?"

Shen Lang noticed she was still using a phone with a cracked screen. "Didn't I buy you a new one? It should've arrived by now."

"Yes, but it's still unopened, and it was so expensive."

Holding her old phone, Li Liusu explained shyly, "I wanted to use this one until it completely breaks."

Shen Lang sighed gently, unsure how to explain things to this innocent girl.

After a brief silence, he decided to nudge her a little.

"Brand-new phones should be used regularly. If you leave it sitting, its components might develop problems."

Li Liusu took him seriously, and, a little worried, she asked, "Really?"

"Why would I lie? You can even check online."

Li Liusu eagerly replied, "Then, I'll start using it tomorrow."

"Silly but cute."

Shen Lang chuckled, then glanced briefly at Li Liusu's long legs in jeans, saying another obvious lie.

"Babe, I haven't driven much lately, so I'm a bit nervous."

Blushing, Li Liusu shot him a glance and muttered shyly, "I don't believe you."

Shen Lang realized that maybe she wasn't as clueless as she seemed and gave up any idea of reaching over, focusing instead on driving.

But in the next moment, out of the corner of his eye, he noticed Li Liusu's legs moving closer.

When he looked at her, she was gazing out the window, her neck showing a blush.

"Alright, still a little clueless," he thought.

With a grin, he casually rested his hand on her leg, softly stroking it.
