After filling up the shopping cart, they left the supermarket with their bags and headed to a nearby department store to buy clothes for Li Liusi.
After a bit of wandering, Shen Lang led Li Liusi into a shop that was relatively empty.
The saleswoman was about to greet them and introduce the store's clothing when the female owner took over and sent the saleswoman away.
Having run a store in the bustling city for many years, the owner had seen all kinds of high-rollers and wealthy people, but a couple where the guy was impeccably dressed and the girl was dressed so simply caught her attention. Their relationship was definitely unusual.
And she was right!
Shen Lang bought Li Liusi seven or eight sets of clothes, spending nearly fifty thousand bucks, and the owner couldn't stop smiling.
During their time at the store, the owner understood why Shen Lang was so into this plain girl.
Her adorable face and striking figure, not only men but even this well-traveled store owner was a bit dazzled.
Even though Shen Lang spent so much today, he didn't mind at all, knowing he still had plenty of savings.
If he ever ran out of money, he could just swipe through social media for a bit.
And Li Liusi really didn't like Shen Lang spending money on her.
They spent about a hundred thousand today.
It wasn't about being gold-digging.
In today's materialistic world, such extravagant spending is tempting for anyone, but spending it on Li Liusi didn't make her like Shen Lang any more; instead, she was worried throughout the whole process.
For a simple, homey girl like her, giving her millions is less meaningful than just spending time chatting with her.
The store owner gave them a discount and even agreed to ship the clothes for free.
When they got home, Li Liusi quickly put on an apron and eagerly looked at Shen Lang.
"Shen Lang, what do you want to eat? I'll make it for you."
Compared to the outfits worth seventy or eighty thousand, this simple girl found cooking for Shen Lang more interesting.
"Me?"
Shen Lang glanced at his phone.
It was already 7:40 PM, and he needed to be at the landlord's Western restaurant in twenty minutes.
Since the restaurant was a bit far, it would take about twenty minutes to get there.
If he ate Li Liusi's food, he would definitely be late.
"I might…"
"Huh? What?"
Li Liusi thought Shen Lang was considering the menu and patiently looked at him with a happy smile, her clear eyes full of anticipation.
"Fried rice."
Shen Lang didn't want to disappoint Li Liusi's kind gesture: "There's still some leftover rice from yesterday, so just make a bowl of fried rice."
"Okay."
Li Liusi happily agreed and headed to the kitchen with three eggs.
Shen Lang quickly sent a message to Summer Xu.
"Summer, I'm stuck in traffic during rush hour. I might be a bit late."
"That's okay, just drive safely. I'll wait for you."
After putting his phone away, Shen Lang wanted to help in the kitchen, but the small space would likely make him more of a hindrance.
So he tapped his fingers on the table and paced back and forth in the living room.
Fortunately, making fried rice was simple, and Li Liusi was quite skilled in the kitchen.
In a few minutes, she brought out a steaming bowl of fried rice, garnished with green onions.
Shen Lang dug into the fried rice and ate quickly. Li Liusi watched, feeling satisfied but still concerned: "Be careful, it's hot."
"It's fine, I'm starving."
Shen Lang asked with his mouth full, "Aren't you eating? Is that all?"
"There's more. You eat first."
Li Liusi smiled and shook her head, quietly watching Shen Lang.
Shen Lang understood that she was worried he wouldn't be full, so she planned to serve him more from the pot after he finished.
As Shen Lang ate, he slowed down and felt a bit guilty seeing how this girl was so focused on him.
"I'm full."
After finishing the bowl, Shen Lang took a deep breath and reluctantly burped: "That's good, Chef Li, the fried rice was really nice."
Li Liusi appreciated the compliment but was still worried about whether Shen Lang was full: "There's more in the pot. Do you want some more?"
"No need."
Shen Lang waved his hand, grabbing his wallet: "Just serve it for yourself. I need to head out."
"Okay."
After Shen Lang left, Li Liusi neatly cleaned up and put the dishes away.
When she was washing the dishes, Shen Lang suddenly returned; he had forgotten his car keys.
His movements were subtle, so Li Liusi didn't notice.
She was busy organizing the groceries from the supermarket in the fridge.
After that, she started scrubbing the stove with a steel wool pad.
The grease was tough to clean, and the kitchen was hot and stuffy from cooking. Li Liusi was soon covered in sweat.
Some stubborn grime was hard to remove, so she bent over and used her nails to scrape it off.
Li Liusi's world was small, and she was content with her current life.
She also liked the guy who had entered her heart, wanting to take care of everything for Shen Lang like a responsible wife.
Shen Lang stood by the kitchen door, quietly watching Li Liusi as she cleaned.
Even though this kind of dirty work would be poorly done by most, Li Liusi did it with dedication, her smooth forehead dotted with sweat.
Shen Lang gently approached her from behind, wrapping his arms around her slim waist and pulling her into a hug.
"What, what are you doing back?"
Li Liusi was initially startled but then clearly pleased.
"Why aren't you eating?"
Shen Lang glanced at the still-steaming fried rice: "You don't need to do this kind of dirty work yourself. You could have hired someone."
"No need, I'm almost done."
Li Liusi shook her head, softly saying: "Hiring someone costs money."
"Oh, you're such a simple girl…"
Shen Lang sighed helplessly, already starting to regret getting involved with such a stubborn girl.
