Chapter 68 - Chapter 69: You're a Good Guy

The phrase "you're a good guy" was originally meant to be a compliment. However, with the progress of time and the rapid development of the internet, this phrase has mysteriously turned into an insult. Nowadays, in our materialistic society, it's often used to describe someone who is deeply affectionate and committed but ends up being unsuccessful in love.

Li Liusi's mindset hasn't caught up with the internet's trends—she hasn't even been online much. With her more traditional thinking, she doesn't know that this phrase is something you should never say, especially in the context of relationships. But for Li Liusi, this guy who has helped her multiple times really is a good person, even though Shen Lang is a bit of a flirt and likes to nibble on her tongue.

Shen Lang had no intention of explaining the modern connotation of the phrase to her. He likes Li Liusi's traditional and innocent nature.

"Since things are like this between us, let's go to my room," Shen Lang said with a gentle kiss on Li Liusi's flushed cheek. "Don't worry, we'll just chat. I won't do anything to you."

Shen Lang wanted to know more about Li Liusi. Since he had agreed to take care of her, he needed to understand her family situation better. This was also a setup for future plans. If she trusted him enough to go to his room now, it would be easier to get her there again or to a hotel later.

"Okay," Li Liusi replied, leaning into him, already seeing Shen Lang as her man.

Back in Shen Lang's bedroom, they sat down on the bed. Shen Lang didn't actually try anything; he just kept asking about Li Liusi's family and why she came to Jianghai City. Of course, he was also casually touching her leg, which seemed normal for a couple.

They chatted from six in the evening until late at night. Li Liusi, being straightforward and honest, answered all his questions since Shen Lang was someone she liked. Shen Lang got all the information he wanted about her. Besides a stroke-stricken grandmother in the hospital, Li Liusi also had a little sister in primary school living with a great aunt back home.

Li Liusi's parents died in a car accident when she was in middle school. The family survived on compensation from the accident and some welfare. Li Liusi also had an apartment in Jianghai City, bought with the money saved up by her grandmother, who wanted to ensure the sisters had a place to live after her death. From her first day in college, Li Liusi had worked part-time at a nearby KFC, which was struggling until she started. With her at the counter, business picked up, and the boss gave her a raise.

Now, as Shen Lang's personal housekeeper and girlfriend, he wouldn't let her work part-time anymore. The reason for KFC's business boom was obvious—who wouldn't want to eat there with such a beautiful girl at the counter?

When it came to why she rented a place, Li Liusi was hesitant, casually mentioning that her roommates weren't all bad and asking Shen Lang not to bother them. Shen Lang immediately guessed they were trouble and planned to meet these "nice" roommates eventually.

"From now on, you're not allowed to work part-time. You're my personal housekeeper now," Shen Lang said, rubbing his sore hand, which had been caressing her denim-clad leg so much that the fabric was pilling.

"Okay," Li Liusi replied obediently.

"We should sign a contract tomorrow. What if you run away?" Shen Lang joked, making Li Liusi blush and smile shyly. "I won't run away."

In the small bedroom, with the bright light shining on Li Liusi's blushing face, she looked irresistibly pure and attractive.

"Give me a kiss as a seal," Shen Lang shamelessly leaned in, and Li Liusi, shyly looking down, had to be coaxed into lifting her chin for a kiss.

"Your lips are so soft, your body smells so good, and your hands are so small," Shen Lang praised everything about her before getting to his real question: "Did you wear the lingerie I bought you yesterday? Does it fit? Can I see?"

Li Liusi looked at him in surprise but nodded slightly, starting to unbutton her shirt. Just as she was about to reveal more, Shen Lang stopped her: "I saw enough, no need to take it all off."

Li Liusi had just been discharged from the hospital and wasn't fully recovered. Shen Lang didn't want to lose control, especially since they had only been together for a few hours.

"It's getting late. Let's talk tomorrow. Go rest now," Shen Lang said, gently stroking her cheek. "If anything happens, tell me. Don't handle it alone. We'll visit your grandma next Saturday."

"And..." Shen Lang's mind flashed with the image of a lively, cute girl, bringing a bittersweet smile to his face. "I might make you mad in the future. No matter what happens, I hope you'll forgive me and not leave me, okay?"

Shen Lang didn't know how long he could keep his secret. Sooner or later, the truth would come out. By preparing Li Liusi now, he hoped to have a chance to make amends if things went wrong.

Li Liusi blinked her innocent eyes, looking at Shen Lang's sincere smile. After a moment's hesitation, she replied earnestly, "Okay..."

"Thank you," Shen Lang said, kissing her gently before relaxing. "Go on, rest now. Message me if you need anything when I'm not home."

"Okay," Li Liusi said, hesitating at the door, wanting to say something but deciding against it. Seeing Shen Lang's reassuring smile, she finally smiled back, pointing to the room opposite.

"I'm going now. Rest early too, okay?"

"Got it, go on," Shen Lang nodded, watching the innocent girl return to her room.
