Chapter 43 - Blinding Light

Sorrel searched desperately for Ashtarot's figure, her eyes darting everywhere even though all she saw in front of her was the monster.

Even with her keen eyesight, sharper than any monster's, she couldn't catch sight of anything except the oppressive darkness.

In her mind, the monster wasn't there in the first place. Or maybe, she was simply in denial.

"ASHTAROT!!!"

She screamed as hard as she could, but her voice didn't even echo; it was swallowed by the darkness. She began to run, searching for him, but there was nothing—only darkness.

She didn't realize that Ashtarot had been eaten by the monsters. In her mind, he was leaving him alone in this void.

Her body trembled again, worse this time as she slumped to the ground.

"ASHTAROT!!!"

"Please, don't leave me alone."

Her voice quivered, tears streaming down her face, her blue crystal eyes glistening in the dark. She kept calling his name, but there was no response.
