Chapter 1 - Till Death Do Us Part

I stomped my feet on the ground whilst nodding my head as my face conveyed different emotions from listening to music that filled the atmosphere of the room.

"This bike is messed up. How the hell am I supposed to finish this before the day ends."

I stood in front of my motorcycle,my face impassive,as I wiped my face with my shirt showing my abs.

"If I don't finish this before she comes back, she's going to taunt me. I've got to finish it up." I said calmly as I picked a screwdriver and screw the nut.

I tightened the nut on the motorcycle as I filled the atmosphere with the sounds of screws and squeaks whilst the speaker roared. I stand up as I take slow steps towards the motorcycle to start the engine.

The motorcycle let out a huge roar that filled the room.

"I love you." i said breathing heavily trying to catch my breath as the engine died down.

I was filled with excitement, as I gave a slight grin whilst taking amble steps with heavy stomps on the pavement, I reached for a beer in the top corner of the shelf. I chug the beer as drops flow down from my lips down to my jawline.

I sigh heavily "now that was refreshing."

Angela in her A.I controlled car drives through the alley whilst having a conference meeting," I can do it,just let me get to the Office tomorrow I'll sort it out."

"You can't do it, it's too much of a workload for you." A conference member said with a persuasive voice

"There is no need to discuss this anymore.it's been decided" Angela said, picking up her bag.

"You can't....", "you have arrived at your destination." her car's voice cutting through the atmosphere, muting the conference members.

"Saved by my car." She smiled slightly as she ended the meeting.

The door opens automatically as Angela steps out of the car with her red heels and business core aesthetic dress, she draws in a breath, the air filled with newly brewed coffee.

She stomps the pavement softly, walking elegantly to the house door as she is greeted by the welcome home rug on her porch.

She reached for the door knob,"scanned successfully, identification confirmed. Mrs Angela welcome home."

"Thank you." Angela said.

The door opens and lights lit up the dim room filling everywhere with rays of light, casting her shadow to the floor.

"Honey I'm home." Angela reaches out for the fridge.

"What do you think you're doing young lady?" I interrupt her, taking her hands up as I pin it to the fridge.

Angela gives out a smile"I see you've been working hard today." Swaying her eyes around his shirt covered with oil grease.

"How about you find out?." I lean forward, kissing her passionately.

I reach for her buttons, removing them slowly."Mrs Angela, you've run out of eggs." The A.I fridge interrupted them.

"Thank you, order them" Angela let out a huge breath, breaking out of my grasp.

"All these machines,I've never liked them. All you do is talk to them and they answer,"What happened to doing it ourselves?" I said as I walked to take a seat and sank my back into the couch.

I chug another gulp of beer,"burp!,sorry" I reach to cover my mouth,my face carrying a shocked look.

"Well I hear you talking to your furniture all the time. At least mine can talk back. She laughed lightly, rubbing her wrist, whilst looking at me with my resentful-looking face.

I gave out a slight grin,"I see what you did there."

Angela gives a slight smile as she attempts to reach for her bag, slowly unzipping it. Pulls out her laptop to resume work.

I frowned slightly ,"You can't work at home honey you know the rules, besides we're going out."

"Come on babe, I have to review this assessment before tomorrow." Angela snorted.

I stood up, walking swiftly towards Angela, I stretched my palm towards the laptop. Slowly closing it. "we're going out,go dress up. You'll work when we get back."

Angela shook her head and said softly "Fine!,I guess that'd work."

I leave the room walking at a swift pace heading towards the garage.I press my head hard into the helmet with a little struggle with a soft frown,I sway my leg across the motorcycle using its key to start the engine with a roaring sound across the room.

"Angela." I called softly

Angela sneered, "I'm coming."

She climbs onto the backseat, securely crossing her arms around my waist.

"You better let it be worth my time." she said with a soft voice.

"It will."

The engine roared as we sped across the flat planes as the eyes could see.

The scorching sun cast overhead, casting long shadows as we drove through the traffic. I gripped the handles tightly and squinted my eyes as I drove through the glaring sun.

Each mile felt like a dance with the sun as the spotlight, with a blend of speed.

We took a turn from the highway, driving through the flat plains as far as the eye could see. An isolated building up ahead in an empty land zoomed in softly as we approached the building.

"Is this where you were heading to in a hurry?" Angela said as the wind interrupted her.

"Wait till you see what's inside," I said with a slight grin.

We approached the building as the motorcycle engine died. I gazed at Angela, looking at the building with a sign of fear filling her face. She swayed her eyes, observing the building's broken pavement, fallen rooftops, and worn-out garden by the side.

"Come on,let's go" taunting her mockingly.

We took slow steps towards the shabby looking house, creaking sounds dominated the atmosphere.

She crossed her hand across her shoulders, swiftly swaying her hands on her shoulders whilst gnashing together repeatedly.

We approach a room filled with nothing but darkness.

"I-I'm sorry, I can't go in."

Her face filled with fear, frightened by the dark room.

"Don't worry, just hold my hand, you're safe with me." My gaze calm, my emotions barely visible in my sparse brows.

She squints her eyes, her nails pressing sharply into my skin. With each intended step, heat radiates from her body, increasing with every movement.

We took each step slowly approaching the bright light at the end of the room,we approached the room filled with lights as thunder claps filled the room.

"Welcome my friend." A man dressed in a long robe walks in the room, his arms stretched out,far from his body.

He walks towards me, his arms enveloped seeking a warm and secure embrace. His eyes lit up with a mischievous glint as his lips curled into a slight grin. "And who is this fine piece?" His voice is a blend of excitement and admiration, the words playfully in the air between us.

"She's my wife."

"Ohhh she's pretty" he stretches her, embracing a warm handshake.

"I've fixed your bike up,she's good as new." I said feeling a sense of excitement in my heart.

"Good, that's what I like to hear. How about you join me for dinner."

I swayed my head taking a long gaze at Angela looking back at me with a slight head-tilt.

"Sure we'd stay for dinner, ohhh where are my manners. Angela met Ramon, my client. Ramon, meet my wife Angela." My hands rubbing my wrist whilst embarrassment swallowed me up.

"And when did you suddenly have manners?" Angela taunted me with a predatory grin.

As we approached the dining table, delicate metal arms gracefully stood out from its sides, with steaming dishes in front of each seat with smoothness and robotic gestures.

We each grab a seat, with our eyes stuck on the robots precision and robotic gestures, swaying their arms to serve us each a steaming meal of different delicacies.

"Enjoy." The robotic arms said with a polite voice.

"Dig in." Ramon picking up utensils smoothly cutting his steak.

Each bite was prepared, and the explosion of flavours caused me to salivate. Angela sipped her dinner and enjoyed a quiet, serene evening across from me, closing her eyes as she consumed each bite.

With her cheeks puffing out and food filled up in her mouth, she manages to mutter,"I must say this is really good." Her eyes broaden up in relish.

"Don't give the machines credit." my eyes lit up with a jealous look."

"I still don't get why you don't like machines."

"yes you do.i've always and will always say they're an eyesore to this world, making man go unemployed and ending up in the street." I said with a soft murmur.

Ramon interrupting us,"Ok, enough with the debate. Thomas, let's get down to business, it's ready just tell me and I'll start it up."
