Messiah was obviously unhappy that the eldest had taken away his precious time with Zarniya. Although he had told Zarniya he wouldn't cause trouble, it would be different if they started it.
And Messiah knew them too well.
Zarniya would never initiate a fight—they always would. Especially that first princess; Messiah disliked her hypocrisy.
She acted as if she were the most generous and kind-hearted woman, but even before, she would always scorn his Zarniya in a subtle manner. It was always passive aggression. Messiah had once thought that attitude of hers was useful, but now he realized it was just irritating.
Zarniya naturally did not know what was going on in the back of Messiah's mind. She should have remembered the first time in the carriage on the way to the tea party.
