Karl gave Eiravyne a reassuring wink before leaving, his words carrying a hint of both jest and sincerity.
"Please stay safe; he will kill me if anything happens to you."
Eiravyne, still feeling weak but touched by his concern, managed a warm smile.

Karl nodded and exited the room, leaving Ilkar and Eiravyne alone.
