Roland glanced apologetically at Eiravyne before turning to Ilkar. "Ilkar, I knew she was unwell, and it was your orders to not let her go outside unless we keep eyes on her," he explained, his tone respectful but firm.
Ilkar gestured with his head to Roland, signaling him to leave.
Roland, understanding the silent command, nodded and retreated, leaving Eiravyne alone with Ilkar.
Once Roland was out of earshot, Ilkar's gaze bore into Eiravyne. "What was the reason? Do you plan to kill yourself again !" he demanded, his voice low but intense.
" Kill m-myself …no !" she answered in a rush .
Eiravyne felt a shiver run down her spine. She hesitated, searching for the right words to explain herself without revealing too much.
"I... I needed to find answers," she said quietly, her voice barely above a whisper. "There are things I don't understand, things I need to know."
