Chereads / His Crimson Obsession / Chapter 12 - Not Verdant Vale!

Chapter 12 - Not Verdant Vale!

In the languid passage of time, Eiravyne's existence remained ensnared within the confines of unconsciousness.

The cruel amalgamation of her body's resistance against the relentless aftermath of the fall, the unrelenting loss of blood, and the insidious infection creeping through her wounds crafted a delicate cocoon of fragility around her.

The Skivarion family's doctor, grappling with the intricate complexity of Eiravyne's condition, found himself facing the limitations of his medical expertise.

Despite earnest endeavors to alleviate her suffering, the enigma of her ailment eluded his grasp, leaving a bitter taste of frustration in his efforts.

It was in this critical juncture that the mantle of healing responsibility shifted to Karl, the solitary sorcerer in Wandova.

Karl, well aware of the precarious nature of Eiravyne's weakened state, approached the task with meticulous determination.

His mystical prowess, renowned as a beacon of hope in times of desperate need, became the guiding force in this delicate dance between magic and the subtle nuances of the human body.

Rather than hastily seeking her awakening, Karl prioritized fortifying her fragile body, acknowledging the perilous consequence that unveiling the severity of her condition could pose.

Days unfolded in a delicate interplay of magical currents and the intricacies of Eiravyne's existence, as Karl tirelessly worked to mend wounds, alleviate infection, and restore vitality.

His efforts, like a symphony of restoration, transcended the ordinary bounds of healing, gradually pulling Eiravyne's body back from the precipice of despair.

Within the hushed sanctuary of her chamber, Eiravyne lay in blissful ignorance of the bustling activity surrounding her.

Diligent maids, moving with a quiet efficiency, tended to her unconscious form, while Karl's visits punctuated the passing days with a reassuring cadence.

Amidst this regimented routine, a clandestine presence lingered in the shadows of the night, silently keeping vigil over her fragile state.

Then, on the seventh night, as if stirred by the whispers of fate, Eiravyne stirred from her slumber.

The warmth of a hand against her brow pulled her from the

depths of sleep, and though her eyes remained closed, the unmistakable presence of a man enveloped her senses.

"You should wake up soon," the voice said.

Struggling against the veil of unconsciousness, Eiravyne yearned to open her eyes and unravel the mystery of her surroundings.

The stillness around her contrasted sharply with the chaotic world she had known on the run with Elara and Zain.

As she attempted to lift her eyelids, a mere furrowing of her brows was the extent of her accomplishment.

Noticing this subtle movement, the man beside her leaned in, as if trying to decipher the silent language of her expressions.

Abruptly, he stood and swiftly exited the room.

Minutes later, a new presence made itself known, its tone drenched in drowsiness as it addressed another.

"She hasn't woken up yet. You could have let me sleep through the night, at least. Give her more time; her body was in a severely weakened state. If it weren't for me, she would have perished. That incompetent doctor had no clue what to do."

In the fragile threshold between consciousness and unconsciousness, Eiravyne found herself succumbing once more to the soothing embrace of oblivion.

The ambient murmurs, once tangible, faded into distant echoes as her senses retreated into the recesses of her slumber.

Time flowed without definition, and the boundaries between reality and the ethereal tapestry of her dreams became indistinguishable.

The next morning, Eiravyne stirred in the gentle embrace of consciousness.

The soft hues of dawn painted the room in a delicate palette, and the air seemed to hold the promise of a new beginning.

With a cautious flutter, her eyelids parted, revealing a room adorned with the subtle elegance befitting.

As her gaze adjusted to the ambient light, Eiravyne took in the details of her surroundings.

The room exuded an air of refinement, with tastefully arranged furnishings that spoke of a life luxury.

Eiravyne's initial disorientation gave way to a growing awareness of her own physicality.

Her limbs felt heavy, and a lingering weakness clung to her like a gentle reminder of the trials she had endured.

With a tentative movement, she raised a hand to her forehead, tracing the remnants of her journey through the fevered abyss.

Confused and disoriented, Eiravyne's gaze wandered around the room, searching for familiar landmarks.

The plush surroundings and intricate décor hinted at affluence, yet she couldn't place the location.

Whispers of questions swirled in her mind, and a soft sigh escaped her lips. "Where am I?Certainly I am not in Aloxa with the Romani family …those bastards don't like a life of luxury …so ..!"

As Eiravyne's eyes scanned the room, the intricate details of the Victorian architecture and the opulent furnishings sparked nothing in her memory….

She didn't know where she was.

As Eiravyne mustered the strength to sit up, a surge of pain rippled through her body.

Despite the discomfort, it afforded her a broader view of the room. The spacious chamber exuded an unmistakable feminine elegance, adorned with luxurious touches that spoke of opulence.

She reached out, her fingers grazing the fabric of the bed beneath her.

A sense of recognition dawned as she murmured, "This place... It's not in Aloxa. And it is not in Verdant Vale either ...this is not …my family house"

And before she could think of anything else, the door creaked open, and a maid entered, her eyes widening at the unexpected sight of Eiravyne sitting on the bed.

Panic etched across her features as she hurried toward Eiravyne, a barrage of questions tumbling from her lips in a rapid succession.

The maid's words spilled out in a rapid torrent, her voice a mixture of shock and concern.

"Oh, by the heavens! Lady, you're awake! Are you feeling well? Do you need anything? How did you find your rest? Are you hungry, thirsty? Should I call for the doctor? We've been praying for your well-being, and when you woke up, I couldn't believe my eyes!. Are you in pain? I should get someone or something for you. Please, let me know how I can assist you! Should I fetch the master? "

" The master !" Eiravyne asked .
