The days post the battle at the Bubble Field have not at all been kind to Gil. His hands experience pain that none of the Naeve's methods can seem to heal. Not even Shikith can work to get his arms working normally. Seems like overexerting himself against the Servant of Veritia's powers was an extremely bad idea.
Gil looked starved, extremely unclean and unrecognizable from his previous status of being the Don of the school. Nothing could ever change the fact that this person was suffering from some serious psychological trauma after the last fight. His eyes seem to be drooping with sadness and anger over his miserable defeat. There was only one motivation for Gil at that point.
Anubis: What are you doing? You should be doing your best to work on your mental training so that you can break out of this cell. I know that you are powerful enough to do that. Then why aren't you working to do that, my boy?
"I am tired master. I am tired of failing everyone and everything. My pain is not ending. I feel like my life ending would give me a more merciful ending rather than letting me live."
"That would destroy the purpose of keeping you alive Gil. And which master are you talking to? Nanami? Or to Anubis himself?" That was Naeve, as she walked down the stairs to meet up with Gil.
"I do not want to talk about it.", Gil answered her.
"Ah well, too bad for that. You seem to have a visitor.", she told him.
"Which person would want to visit me at this point in my life?", Gil looked through the bars of the cell.
"Hey there buddy… You seem to be doing, badly…", the voice spoke from behind.
"I can't see you through my hair, but is that you? Arjun?", Gil excitedly questioned.
"Hi, mate! How are you doing?", Arjun questioned him again. "Yep, that is me. Arjun's here to see you"
"But what are you even doing here, don't you want to spend more time recovering?" he questioned him.
"Recovering? Bud, it's been over seven weeks since that incident last took place. I am definitely on my way to getting better, that is definitely for sure.", he stated as he sat down on the bench outside the cell. "Tell me about what exactly happened according to you, and I shall match it up with the sources that I have."
"Forget it, Arjun, that useless piece of shit of a quack is present here. I am not going to utter a word that might put my life in more pain." Gil sternly stated while staring into Naeve's eyes.
"I am going to take that insult as a side effect of all the treatment that I have been giving you and leave you be. Insulting me, you puny little brat.", Naeve stormed out of the room.
"Why would you do that?", Arjun questioned Gil as he saw her storm off, completely baffled.
"I don't want to talk about it when I am present with her. She reports everything to Nanami, and right now, Nanami's information is heavily fractured because I am out of the picture. I am no longer functioning as his pawn after seeing what he was doing on the battlefield.", Gil stated
"So, he's not how you presume him to be, or did something else happen?"
"Not like that, it's just that I am confused with someone as powerful as Sensei, maintaining the ability to keep two different states, but is still alive. That is when it hit me. Sensei is just the jack of all trades, he's a master in none. In turn, that man is just a really powerful support and a really good leader."
"But when it comes to true power, we all overshine in battle? Is that what you are stating?"
"Pretty much. I know that this seems strange, but there was something that was given to me in that void when I fought that bounty hunter. I forgot the flower's name, but the hunter crushed its flowers and force-fed it to us. He made sure that we didn't leave a single piece. It was juiced up with something because all of a sudden I am now able to tune into Master-Servant FM and speak with my masters. Master Gods can speak amongst themselves."
"I see, but is this just limited to gods, or do Avatars also have something with this?"
"I have no clue. I am so new to all of this, half the time it gets so annoying having another person that is watching every move that you make and controlling the power that you can wield at a particular time. Albeit this power is extremely useful when it comes to fighting the battles properly and handling odd tasks."
"So like any power, it has its uses and drawbacks. It does not make you invincible."
"Exactly!"
"Then what happened to Sakurai? There's no word of her. Also, I think you might have known this, but Egoister and Clara have run away. They went away looking for Allastor and Wellester. I mean at this point, the entire campus of the school is filled with so many wanted posters of Wellester, Allastor and that bounty hunter. It is so funny."
"That is funny when it is required to be. Especially considering that those beings are all older generational beings, just like Sensei."
"Are there any thoughts about your body? How are you feeling right now?"
"Both my arms are unable to function as intended after the blowback. I cannot move my legs below my knees, so I am unable to move at all. I can probably scoot over using my buttocks, but apart from that, no real movement. I think I need more time and a proper bed to get better."
"I will see what I can do. It took me so much time just to track you down and be able to speak to you. You are kept in one of the most secure places on this planet. They are treating you like some dangerous criminal."
"I can see where that is coming from. I have caused them so much harm, that it would make sense that they restrain me. I would have done the same if I was present in their position."
"I could get you out of jail right now if you want?" Arjun fashioned his hand in the shape of a plasma blade.
"There will be no need for that. But I do need your help for something."
"Yes, what is it?"
"I need your help in deciding for me…"
"Okay, what is this decision about."
"About four days back, I got a message from my master, Anubis, that the hunter wants to set me free, if I become allies with them. My master suggests that I take up that opportunity, as learning from the Servant of Arawn would improve my battling capabilities, making me more prepared for this world."
"More prepared for this world? Aren't we already suffered the worst of the attack? You mean to tell me there's going to be more of these situations that we just went through?"
"Probably, probably not. I have no idea what statistic I should even rely on right now. But more than my life, I trust you much more. Thus, what would you do if you were in the same situation where I am."
"I-I don't know what to say, Gil."
"What do you think Arjun?"
"Certainly, an interesting situation to say the least. I feel like I would take it. Everything has been a shitstorm ever since I lost against Kars-Nas the faction became topsy turvy over around here. Learning from that Hunter of yours would greatly turn the tide in your favour. Who wouldn't take that advantage, my friend?"
"Then I guess it's settled. Master, please tell his master about the decision that we came up with."
Anubis: I am not some messenger, but what I can do is bring you to him, so that you can talk to him on his face.
"Arjun, if I am leaving, would you want to join me in this Waltz of Death?"
"Waltz of Death, I mean… How can you dance, if there is no light to shine onto it?", Arjun chuckled. "Of course, I am there with you bud. We are not leaving until we are together bud. That is a blood oath from me."
"Then I guess it is settled."
"Yep!"
"Arawn, tell Radal to come and rescue me."
