Xavier had no reason to stay in the Citadel longer since the threat of Callum and Winston killing each other was gone. So, he left Winston sulking in the room and headed to the Campbell home.
He was not sure he would get to talk with Leila, but he wanted to catch even a glimpse of her. It always soothed his heart and soul when he looked at her. Whether she was being cute, shy, angry or violent, she was perfect to him.
He never imagined that he would have someone just for himself. He grew up thinking he was an anomaly in the world, a monster without a soul. For a time, he believed that he was an aberration.
But fate had granted him a bloodflame, a soulmate. It was enough proof that he was not a soulless monster. At least, he would never be a soulless monster to the one person who gave him a glimpse of the light.
She was his everything.
