Xavier knew Sam would never compromise his safety, but he understood there was an underlying meaning to his words. He did not think that his best subordinate would be audacious without a reason.
"You have some guts," Xavier said.
"Can you deny the reality?" Samhain asked. "I know when someone has fallen into the throes of love. Even if you do not understand the signs, I know what happens when someone abandons duty for love."
Xavier was surprised by the boldness of his subordinate, but he liked knowing that someone could tell he liked someone. His face turned softer towards Samhain, even though he was mocking him.
"What do you plan to do?" Xavier asked.
"I am planning to create an elite team to cover your weakness," Sam replied. "You should be more careful. There are people watching you. We need to be more vigilant than ever. You cannot let your guard down."
