Amelia looked at her mother with red eyes filled with an animalistic emotion, unlike her usual calm nature. She might have noticed her mother's unusual behaviour at seeing her if she were in her normal state.
Charlotte was also not paying as much attention to her daughter. She was trying to figure out if Amelia could have been watching her and Silas. Even if no lines were crossed, some things could be misinterpreted.
For example, Silas leaned very close to whisper to her, and it could be seen as overly intimate between in-laws.
Unfortunately, or fortunately, both of these people were experiencing chaotic emotions. Therefore, they were too absorbed in their worlds to notice the anomalies within each other. They were only concerned about themselves.
Usually, the two were quite level-headed and attentive. In addition, they both had a calculating nature, and they would use every piece of information to gain an advantage where possible.
