Xavier returned to Sterling's house with anger still visible in his face. The issue between Callum and Sterling might seem inconsequential, but it was much more serious because of the rules he was supposed to enforce for their world.
The modern world was no longer a place where vampires could sire fledglings or werewolves could turn people with a casual bite. And more importantly, it was certainly not a place where nonconsensual permanent bonds were allowed.
He was not sure Callum's and Sterling's bond was exactly nonconsensual, but it crossed lines that should not be crossed. It endangered both their lives and took away their autonomy.
If he was forced to intervene again, he would have to take a more drastic measure, especially if there was a danger of the bloodbond being exposed. This matter was not just about their irresponsible behaviour and the long-term connection.
