On the other side of Lake City.
Callum's Cabin
Callum felt like he was stepping on pins and needles as he paced around his house while waiting for Xavier. He was restless and uncomfortable, especially when his eyes drifted back to Sterling who was still harmlessly sleeping.
There was a simmering bloodlust beneath his tension. He could feel that draw of the bloodbond, even as he tried to ignore Sterling's pulse and the smell of medicinal herbs that seemed entangled with his blood.
He could not afford to make the situation worse by sealing the complete bond or drinking further from Sterling without more complications. He also could not trust himself to hypnotise and compel Sterling to forget everything himself.
He would only make the blood connection stronger.
