Xavier did not know what was wrong with him. He was feeling restless and on edge. Sure, the restlessness was familiar since he met Leila. When he could not see her, he felt off-balance like his skin was itching.
When he was near her, the anxiety would disappear. It was like his mind could not settle down unless he knew she was safe.
However, his current discomfort was different, more amplified than usual. The restlessness was turning into an ache. He could not tell if it was a physical or mental pain. Perhaps, it was just a phantom pain because he could not grasp it.
He tried once again to focus on his work, but the niggling sensation did not stop. He knew the feeling was related to Leila, but he was trying to get better at controlling the urge to watch her at all times.
