Winston turned and found his younger brother looking at him with slightly amber eyes, his wolf on the surface. This was the first time he had seen Sterling shifting outside of normal fights in the supernatural world.
Sterling was a chill man who thought brains ruled over brawn. He detested the aggressive nature of wolves, especially those who would shift without control due to anger. He said it reduced their species into thoughtless animals.
Winston never imagined that the first time Sterling would lose control was because of the smug vampire, whose guts he hated.
However, Winston was familiar with the behaviour of mated werewolves. While wolves were not obsessive like vampires in the initial period of the mating process, they would be extremely territorial after marking.
