Back in the apartment, Leila hopped back on Xavier's lap. She poked his face with her index finger and had a mischievous look on her face. She was unsatisfied and started ruffling his dark hair into a messy look.
He still looked handsome, but she was happy to see him looking less put together.
Moreover, she never thought she would find happiness in having someone to annoy. She could not describe the feeling. Perhaps, it was the companionship, or she just liked having someone of her own.
Everything she had did not feel like hers completely… except Xavier.
Sure, she worked hard to be the best at everything she did, but those were just the things that filled her life. Everything else she had felt as if it was borrowed luck, even the love of her grandparents.
