The dark voice should have disturbed Leila because of its possessive intensity, but it made her shiver slightly. She did not know how she truly felt about Xavier, but she could not deny that he filled a part of her she never knew was hollow.
However, she was not going to sink into lust and forget her main concern. So, she pushed the overbearing man away and took a breath to clear her head. Xavier was quite intoxicating to her senses.
"What did you mean by talking about a mark earlier? What are you keeping from me?" Leila asked, looking at Xavier with sharp eyes.
Xavier was a little startled as he realised that Leila did not know about the accidental mating mark she gave him. It seemed like she had not initiated it willingly. For a moment, he thought about hiding it from her.
