Lara did not have breakfast after her chat with Amelia. She could not be in the mood for food after everything that happened through the morning, especially when Amelia tore off the pretence immediately.
She wanted to vent her anger, but she decided to accept the outcome as her punishment for lacking judgment. The feelings she put into that friendship were already fed to a dog, so she could not recover them.
Moreover, she did not want to be further entangled with Amelia. If she did not show up before her again, she would forget the person existed. But if she revealed her fox tail again, she would be there to cut it off.
For now, she needed a clean break. This is the reason she did not tell Amelia that the family was not exiling her to another country. She hoped the next time she met with the people from Lake City would be, at least, two months.
That was the period when the universities would open to new students.
