"I have to do something faster. But where do I get that kind of money in just two days?" Valeria raked through her hair while trying to figure out the situation. "I have no funds in my account either. And asking from Markos is risky, the amount is big enough to make him investigate. I cannot–"
Slumping in the bed against her back, Valeria's expressions grew overwhelming. She was worried about the funds but at the same time she was also disappointed in herself. "I cannot ask Markos for money. There is only one way now." Wiping her tears off the cheeks rashly, she was willing to do everything in her power.
Reaching for her phone once again, dialling a number she thought something and stopped. "I have to set the ground for this theft first. If I sneak away some bucks like this, Markos will investigate it. I have to do something to convince him to not inquire about my actions." Valeria had already created the plan within sequence in her head.
Shaking her head, the woman stood up and headed towards the washroom to freshen up. Meanwhile, Miss Agnes, who had brought her a nice cup of chamomile tea; stood outside and overheard everything. "Why is she lying about her name? And what is this money theft she is concerned about?" As much as she wanted to probe, the old woman was worried now.
Nonetheless, she headed inside with the tray and placed the tea on the table. Miss Agnes approached the bed and was about to pick up her phone when Valeria walked in. "How are you feeling now, dear?" Shifting her hand towards the duvet, settling it she cheerfully inquired. "I brought you special tea for soothing."
"Thank you." Valeria held her hands when she experienced slight fidgeting. The woman had been in the rabbithole of adult life so long that reading a person wasn't a hard task now. "You really are like a mother to me." She chuckled while pressing Agnes' hands. "I am sure Markos loves you a lot and trusts you."
Valeria intentionally used those words while staring. Smiling at the elderly woman she released her hands. Miss Agnes returned the gesture, touching Valeria's cheek she headed out. "I cannot tell this to Markos. He loves Valeria and if he knew about this–my poor boy would be heartbroken.' Taking smaller steps towards the lounge she mumbled.
'But I cannot let this matter slide too. Valeria is probably lying and hiding things from him. What is this money matter she was concerned about?' Miss Agnes grew worried, twisting her fingers in panic she headed towards the front lawn. 'I have to do something. Maybe gather some proof about that caller.'
Meanwhile, Markos came home later that evening. Freshening up he was at the table when Valeria walked in. She sat beside Markos and opposite to Miss Agnes who smiled at them. Markos leaned in to whisper in her ear while Miss Agnes instructed to serve the food. "Are you trying to compete with that model now? Jealous this much?"
Valeria scoffed and glanced at him with a lopsided grin. "Why would I be jealous of someone whose whole definition is plastic?" Markos could see what she was trying to attempt. However, he was adamant on making her admit about her jealousy. Rather than commenting on what they did in the office, she was highlighting her plastic surgeries.
"Oh really now? The same plastic who showed off her slender long legs." Markos grinned and gestured to her exposed legs in the shorts. "And here you are portraying the same. If this isn't jealousy then tell me what it is." He tried hard to probe her ego, knowing that Valeria Hayden was always a proud woman. And nothing can change one's nature.
"This is called comfort, Mister Markos Moreno." She smirked and scoffed later while pouring water for herself. "Not every woman wants your attention." Sipping over the water she shifted her attention towards him. This time she had a victorious expression. "Tell me, Markos." Valeria snagged his attention successfully.
"Why would I beg your attention like this when you are the one wagging your tail around me?" Markos took a few moments to realise what she just said. A smile gradually appeared over his lips as he hid his mouth. Meanwhile, Miss Agnes was dumbfounded at their weird antics. She couldn't help but rebuke both of them.
"You both should stop stroking each other's ego in this way." Raising her eyebrows in frustration, the old woman was tired now. "I wouldn't be surprised if at this pace you both are at each other's collars. Goodness, this generation." Dishing out the pasta for herself the spoon clanked against the plate. She was genuinely angry at the cat and mouse game they had been playing.
"See, you made my mother frustrated. What kind of daughter-in-law will you be, Valeria?" Markos attempted to handle the situation, while reaching for Miss Agnes' hand. However, Valeria wasn't in the mood to let Markos off the hook. She was unable to swallow that he was fucking someone else while consoling her. How could he play two-timer?
"The one who will keep you happy and busy in the bed." Valeria carelessly replied while eating, her blunt response left both of them utterly speechless. Markos faked clearing his throat and began to eat silently. The whole atmosphere was awkward, while Markos secretly enjoyed the way she subtly ventilated her rage.
