Chereads / Demon Prince is Resurrected / Chapter 53 - No more fighting... please

Chapter 53 - No more fighting... please

Yuto looked between the two of them.

The anger and betrayal in their eyes were evident.

Luna and Catherine had a bit of holy magic developing in their right hands.

It was clear that one wrong answer would blow this whole thing up.

"W-what demon?"

"Don't play dumb!"

Catherine snapped, her grip on Yuto's collar tightening.

Her eyes flicked towards Lilith, then back to Yuto.

"We know Lilith sent the demon girl back home by opening a portal!"

"So what's the issue? We sent the girl back home like you two wanted?"

"You know that's not the issue," Luna said sternly, her voice cold.

"We know Lilith is a demon, Yuto. Why are you acting like she's your friend or something?"

["Shit"]

"Answer the question," Catherine demanded, pushing Yuto further against the wall.

"Why are you cozying up to a demon? And a high-ranking one at that?"

"It's not what it seems like"

"Then what is it?" Luna asked, her tone sharp.

"You expect us to believe you're not siding with a demon? An enemy of humanity?"

He let out a deep sigh, this was starting to remind him of how he would argue with Kaz.

It was a very annoying yet meaningful conversation.

"Girls, can we at least talk somewhere private?"

Catherine and Luna exchanged looks, silently communicating with each other.

After a tense moment, Luna nodded.

"Fine," she said, her voice taut.

"But this better be good, Yuto"

They canceled their holy magic.

Both were still on guard, but at least Yuto had a chance to explain himself better.

"Of course"

Catherine let Yuto as they began walking, Yuto straightened his suit as he turned to Lilith.

"You come too"

Lilith, who had been silently watching the exchange, perked up at Yuto's command.

"Me?" she asked, a small smirk on her lips.

"Are you sure that's a good idea?"

"..."

"I'll take that as a yes," Lilith said, a hint of satisfaction in her voice.

Catherine and Luna looked at Lilith in annoyance, their expressions telling Yuto that bringing Lilith along was a big mistake.

Yuto led them to a secluded location, far enough from the main festivities that they wouldn't be overheard.

Once they were all settled, Catherine and Luna turned their gazes towards Yuto and Lilith.

The tension in the air was almost palpable.

[ Sound Barrier: Tier 8 ]

"Okay, questions?"

"First," Catherine said, her voice sharp.

"Why are you associating with Lilith?"

"Is that really-"

"Yes, it really is," Luna cut in, her expression stern.

"She's a demon, Yuto. A being of pure evil. Why are you cozying up to her like she's your friend or something?"

Yuto could see the genuine concern and confusion in their eyes.

It wasn't just anger or fear of Lilith.

They were also worried about him.

They truly believed Lilith was a danger to him, and they wanted to understand why he trusted her.

"What exactly do you think our relationship is?"

"Well..." Catherine began, clearly at a loss for words.

"You... you seem awfully comfortable around her, considering she's a demon," she stated.

"Yeah," Luna chimed in.

"And that's not even mentioning the fact that you let her send the demon girl back home through a portal"

Yuto glanced at Lilith who was standing behind him.

Her eyes perked up as he called her name.

"Lilith"

"Yes?"

"What is our relationship?"

"We are master and servant"

"And who is the master?"

"Tis you Milord"

Both Luna and Catherine's expressions changed into surprise at Lilith's words, their eyes widening in shock.

"Master and... servant?" Luna questioned, trying to process what she had just heard.

"Look, I didn't just spare her because I wanted to but because I need the manpower that she has"

"And… because in her last moments, she told the truth"

Catherine and Luna looked at Yuto, then at Lilith, still trying to wrap their heads around the revelation.

"Wait, you... spared her?"

Catherine asked, her voice still filled with disbelief.

"Why would you spare a demon? Especially a high-ranking one?"

Yuto's face was just disbelief.

"What? You guys were the ones who wanted to stop me from killing the demons in the village?"

"Killing demons that gave up the fight, but not sparing the generals!"

Luna exclaimed, her voice rising.

"They're dangerous, Yuto. Why on earth would you even consider sparing one of them?"

["Shit…"]

"... I get it... you too are from the church of Elise so this is hard for you two to understand"

"What?"

"What do you mean 'hard for us to understand'?"

"We're human, Yuto. And she is an actual demon"

"You're not making any sense! Are you seriously expecting us to be okay with this?"

Catherine protested, her voice rising with frustration.

"This is ridiculous," Luna echoed, her eyes narrowed in disbelief.

"You expect us to believe that you're just 'using' her?"

"That you don't feel any actual affection towards her?"

"You can't seriously think we're going to be okay with you sparing and protecting a literal demon!"

"..."

"Well I won't lie, she is beautiful"

Catherine's mouth fell open, and even Luna looked floored.

"Are you... are you kidding me right now Yuto?"

Catherine sputtered, her eyes wide with disbelief.

"You're protecting her because... because you find her attractive?" Luna echoed incredulously.

["... this is going nowhere"]

He turned his head to look at Lilith to help explain the situation.

Lilith, sensing that Yuto needed her to explain the situation, chuckled softly.

"I suppose I should chime in now, hm?" she said, her voice smooth and sultry.

Both Catherine and Luna looked at her, the disdain in their expressions growing more apparent.

They didn't trust Lilith at all, to the point they were practically glaring daggers at her.

Lilith, noticing their hostility, smirked lazily.

She walked over to Yuto and wrapped an arm around his shoulder, pulling him closer to her.

"My, you have quite protective friends, Milord," she purred, her voice carrying a hint of mockery.

Catherine's hands clenched into fists, her eyes narrowing further.

"Don't get too comfortable, demon," she spat out the word with as much venom as she could muster.

"Oh, I assure you, I am quite comfortable," Lilith replied, her smirk widening.

She pressed her body against Yuto's, making a show of clinging to him.

Luna's eyes flashed angrily.

"Step away from him, demon." she all but growled, her hands clenched tightly at her sides.

"..."

"Lilith"

Lilith glanced at Yuto upon hearing her name.

"Yes, Milord?" she responded, her tone sultry.

"Step back, you can explain without clinging to me"

Lilith pouted slightly, but obediently pulled away from Yuto, taking a small step back.

"Must I?" she asked, feigning disappointment.

"..."

Yuto gave Lilith a look that clearly told her to behave.

Then he turned his attention back to Catherine and Luna, who were watching the exchange with a mix of anger and confusion.

"Is that better?" he asked, his voice calm.

Both Catherine and Luna nodded, though their expressions were still guarded.

They glanced at Lilith, who was now standing a few feet away from Yuto, a hint of petulance still on her face.

Before Lilith could speak, Luna cut her off, "Can't you just tell us the truth?"

"You want me to tell you?"

"Yes!" They both exclaimed.

They wanted answers, and they wanted them now.

"Alright"

"Sit down and get comfortable, anything to prepare you for the truth do it"

Catherine and Luna exchanged a glance, then nodded.

They took a few steps back and settled down on the ground, sitting with their legs crossed.

They both looked up at Yuto, their expressions serious and expectant, signaling that they were ready to hear the truth he was about to reveal.

"Ready?"

"Yes"

"Yes, we are"

"Okay, to start, you both know me as Yuto Akimitsu, the man you've spent the past two weeks with"

Catherine and Luna both nodded, their gazes fixed on him.

They were following along, waiting for him to continue.

"And that my other 3 lovers are the dragon and elven princesses, and my ego sword"

"Yes"

They both whispered.

"They know my real identity and so does Lilith"

"Is that so?" Luna mumbled.

"To be truthful, I wanted to tell you both at a later time, one when our relationship can be strong enough to handle it"

"But I see now… that it's not possible right given the current situation"

"Tell us" Luna urged, her voice trembling with excitement and trepidation.

"Who are you truly, Yuto?"

"..."

"And will you love me the same, accept me for what I am?"

Catherine and Luna exchanged a glance before simultaneously nodding.

"Yes, of course," Luna said firmly, her voice filled with conviction.

"We won't stop loving you, no matter what you tell us"

Catherine nodded in agreement, her expression determined.

"We trusted you before, and we trust you now. We will accept you for who you are, Yuto. Nothing will change that"

"Okay, here goes nothing"

Yuto took a deep breath, letting it out before looking back up at them.

"I am the first hero from the old war 3,000 years ago"

Catherine and Luna's eyes widened in stunned disbelief as they processed Yuto's revelation.

They stared at him for a moment, unable to speak, their minds trying to wrap around the idea of the man before them being the legendary first hero from such a long distant past.

"Luna, I'm guessing by your reaction, your goddess didn't tell you everything about me, huh?"

Luna, still reeling from Yuto's reveal, shook her head weakly.

"N-no," she managed to stammer, her voice trembling slightly.

"I... I didn't know any of this"

Catherine's expression mirrored shock and confusion.

"The legendary first hero," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.

"You're him… but how is this even possible?"

Yuto glanced at Catherine with a small smile, his eyes showing no sign of lying.

"My soul has been reincarnated and I have a few memories from the past"

"Reincarnated?" Catherine mumbled.

"Yes, my main mission is to obtain the missing fragments of my ego sword to retain more memories"

Luna's mind was spinning with shock as she and Catherine absorbed the stunning revelation.

Memories from their childhood teachings about the first hero flooded their minds, and it was hard to reconcile the image of the legendary figure from their childhood stories with the person who was sitting before them now.

"So what's the problem?" Luna said with a grin.

"Yeah, I think it's cool!" Catherine said with excitement.

"..."

"The problem is that the first hero wasn't a human but a hybrid between the demon queen and a human"

"W-what?"

"Wait, wait, wait," Luna sputtered, her voice filled with confusion and shock.

"The first hero... was a hybrid half-demon and half-human? You're part demon?"

["Did the church cover this up?"]

"Although I have human parents and a human body, my soul still retains my form and powers from the past"

"Luna... you must have questioned it... when you were doing the ritual and horns and wings popped out"

Luna's eyes widened as she recalled the incident Yuto was talking about.

She had indeed questioned it when she had seen the horns and wings appear during the ritual.

"Wait... so that was..." she murmured, her voice trailing off as she tried to grasp the enormity of what Yuto was saying.

Catherine, meanwhile, was struggling to wrap her mind around the fact that the first hero was part demon.

The information was completely new to her, and she couldn't help but wonder what else she didn't know about the legends she had grown up hearing about.

Was the church just filled with lies?

Who does she trust?

Yuto?

This was all very confusing and just brought a lot of different emotions out of her.

"I... I don't know what to say," Luna whispered, her voice barely above a whisper.

"This is... it's a lot to take in"

"I know it is… Lilith, do you wish to add anything?"

Lilith, who had been silently observing the exchange, smiled lazily.

"What is there to be added, Milord?" she asked, her tone dripping with mockery.

"You have pretty much spilled everything, yes?"

"Or did you also want to tell the two of them that the first hero was the youngest demon prince?"

"Hard to believe they didn't pay attention when you said your mother was the demon queen..."

Catherine and Luna's eyes widened to the size of dinner plates as Lilith spoke.

Yuto was a demon prince?!

The youngest of all the princes?

It was too much to process, but there was no denying the truth of Lilith's words.

"The demon prince..." Luna repeated, her voice barely above a whisper.

She looked between Yuto and Lilith, her mind reeling from the revelations.

Catherine, meanwhile, was just staring at Yuto, her expression in disbelief.

Both girls were trying to wrap their heads around the fact that the man they'd both grown to care for deeply was not just the legendary first hero, but also the son of the demon queen herself.

"Of course," Yuto continued, "That was 3,000 years ago and my mother is human"

"I-is that so?" Catherine managed to say.

"Yes, that was my past identity, the reason behind most of my strength, but I am human"

"So Luna, Catherine, I-"

"Just one second," Luna interrupted, holding up a hand to stop Yuto.

"Before you continue, I have a question"

"Yes?"

"What kind of abilities did you inherit from your past self?"

"Ah, a good question"

He looked over to Catherine, "Do you remember the martial art I used against the bandits, the first time we met?"

She nodded, "Yeah, you called it seven sins, right?"

"Yeah, by doing certain quests I can obtain some of my lost power, that's why finding the fragments is so important to me"

"To reclaim lost power or to suppress it?" Luna asked, her eyes showing more curiosity rather than fear.

"To control it of course," he said with a stupid grin.

"I see"

"What do you mean, 'you see' Luna? You understand why this implies correct?"

"Well Catherine I do know it's just-"

The two of them started piecing together some facts, trying to wrap their minds around their current situation.

Yuto saw this and couldn't help but chuckle.

"What is it?" Catherine asked, her voice still trembling faintly.

"You two are taking it a lot better than Freya did"

"Freya? The elf princess?" Luna mumbled.

Catherine interjected, "What was her reaction?"

"She was... scared... she had every right to be"

"After all before we met her homeland was being invaded by the demon lord's army"

Both girls nodded in understanding, to fall in love with a man who could be associated with the very monsters that broke your peace.

It could be a very heartbreaking and terrifying feeling.

"But... she knew me... the two years we spent together... she knew I wasn't evil"

That information made both Catherine and Luna feel a bit better.

If the elf princess, who had come to fear and hate demons, could trust Yuto, then surely they could too.

"And Kana... she accepted me despite the history of dragons and demons"

"Saying things like, I'm different, and so on, and I love them for believing in me"

"And you are different," Luna said sincerely, her voice quiet but full of conviction.

"..."

Yuto spread his arms, "With everything on the table... will you two continue to love me?"

Both Catherine and Luna didn't hesitate.

"Yes," they answered in unison, their voices firm and sure.

No matter what Yuto's past was, no matter what he had done, they still loved him.

"We trust you," Catherine added, her voice soft but resolute.

"We love you, Yuto. Nothing is going to change that"

"Absolutely," Luna echoed.

"You're still the same person to us, Yuto. We trust you and we love you, no matter what"

They got up and ran to hug him, practically tackling him to the ground.

The sudden embrace caught Yuto off guard, and he stumbled a bit but quickly regained his balance.

He laughed as he felt their arms around him, their support and acceptance meaning everything to him.

But just as they were enjoying their moment of affection, Lilith's voice broke in, her tone tinged with a playful tease.

"Don't mind me, just observing the touching scene from afar," she called out mockingly.

Yuto looked up and saw Lilith giving him a faint smile, "Oh shit, I forgot about you for a moment"

Lilith chuckled as she approached them, her eyes sparkling with mirth.

"How rude," she said feigning hurt, "You forget about me so easily, Milord"

Meanwhile, Catherine and Luna pulled back from the hug, their gazes darting toward Lilith.

Catherine spoke up first, her voice laced with both curiosity and slight apprehension.

"So... will you really not betray Yuto if it comes down to it?"

"Can we trust you?"

Lilith smirked, her wings fluttering slightly as she tilted her head in an almost mocking gesture.

"Oh, darling," she said, her tone dripping with feigned sweetness.

"You're still so trusting, aren't you? As for your question, it's quite simple really"

"If the time were to come where I must choose, it would depend on the offer"

"What benefits would I stand to gain from betraying him exactly?"

Yuto stepped in before either Catherine or Luna could respond.

He knew Lilith all too well.

"Lilith," Yuto warned, his tone serious but calm.

"Don't go stirring trouble"

Lilith chuckled, her demeanor shifting to an exaggerated innocence.

"Me? Stirring trouble? My, my, I would never," she said, her voice filled with mock surprise.

Catherine and Luna were still eyeing her warily, clearly unsure of how much they could trust the mischievous demon woman.

Yuto sighed, rubbing a hand on his forehead.

He could sense the growing tension in the air and he didn't want his girls to be uncomfortable around Lilith.

"Ignore her, please," he told them, his voice gentle.

"Let's sleep tonight and prepare to head back to the guild and report the safety of the villagers and adventures, okay?"

Both Catherine and Luna nodded, their gazes still flicking between Yuto and Lilith.

They could see Yuto's attempt to ease the tension and appreciated his effort to keep the peace.

Catherine spoke up, her voice soft, "Yeah, we should probably rest up for the journey back"

"A good night's rest will do us all good," Luna chimed in, trying to force a smile despite her uneasiness.

As they began to prepare for sleep, Lilith chuckled again, clearly enjoying the effect she had on the two girls.

Yuto shot a glance at Lilith, silently warning her to keep her pranks and provocations to a minimum for the night.

He understood her nature, but he also knew that dealing with two tense humans wasn't something he looked forward to.

"Lilith," he said, his voice firm but quiet.

"Behave"

Lilith just smirked in response, seemingly unfazed by his warning.

"Whatever you say, Milord," she said, her tone laced with a hint of mockery.

"I'll TRY to behave"

[ Blood Lust: Tier 4 ]

"Lilith"

The sudden change in Yuto's tone had both Catherine and Luna looking up in surprise.

Even Lilith seemed taken aback, her expression momentarily startled before she regained her composure.

"What, Milord?" she asked, her voice a tad more controlled, yet still carrying its usual sly undertone.

Yuto's gaze was intense as he focused on Lilith.

"Don't even think about stirring the pot," he warned.

"I'm not playing games here. If you cause any trouble for Catherine or Luna, I'll make sure you regret it"

There was a flicker of something akin to fear in Lilith's eyes before her usual smirk returned.

"Ah, so protective," she teased, trying to keep her composure.

"I wouldn't dream of causing trouble for your little humans, Milord. You know me"

"..."

[ Canceling Effects of Blood Lust ]

"Return to your human form and go to sleep"

Lilith's smirk faded and was replaced with a pout.

She grumbled something under her breath, clearly not happy to be ordered around.

"Fine, as you wish, Milord," she muttered,

"But I was just having some fun..."

With a swish of her wing, Lilith transformed into her human form.

She then made her way to a secluded spot and settled down to sleep, though her expression was still petulant.

Meanwhile, Yuto, Luna, and Catherine headed towards the home the villagers had set up for them and slept rather peacefully, despite Lilith pulling a few pranks throughout the night.

- Morning -

They woke up early and diligently prepared for the journey back to the adventurer's guild.

Saying their goodbyes to the villagers and refusing rewards.

They at least left with food that would last them a month, seeing as how Yuto indulged himself in the buffet they had for breakfast.

Luna and Catherine had to pull him back before he ate the whole village's rations.

As they left the village the atmosphere between Lilith and the two girls remained somewhat strained.

Lilith was unable to resist making the occasional playful jab that left Luna and Catherine feeling on edge.

Yuto constantly had to step in, reminding her to mind her manners.

Throughout the week-long journey, the group managed to avoid any major incidents.

However, the continuous tension between Lilith and the two others made for an emotionally exhausting experience

Finally, they made it to the guild with Yuto having to put them in separate rooms while he met with Emma in the Guild Office.

As he entered the office he noticed that Emma was covered in a mountain of papers.

Scribble Scribble

"... Darn paperwork…"

Scribble Scribble

"Cough!"

"?"

"Oh, Yuto," she said, looking up from her paperwork with a weary smile.

"You're back. How did it go?"

Yuto chuckled as he sat down on the couch, "Better than you it seems"

Emma groaned as she pushed aside a stack of papers.

"You have no idea," she muttered, rubbing her temples.

"I swear these requests never end. It's been one crisis after the other ever since you left"

"Are the other adventures dealing with these requests?"

"Yeah, they're out on their own assignments," Emma said with a sigh.

"But it's been nonstop. We've handled a few goblin raids, bandits, and some magical beast outbreaks, and now we have reports about a gang of thieves causing trouble in a nearby town"

"I see"

"Anyways about the request you gave us"

Emma nodded. "Right," she said, grabbing a few papers from the pile.

"The report was brought back from the village. How were things there?"

"Well, you know how you might have thought that the missing people had something to do with the beast folk?"

"Yes," Emma said, her brows furrowing.

"I had suspicions but... was I right?"

He shook his head, "No, we didn't even reach the kingdom because we came across the village that reported it"

"What? You didn't even make it to the borders?"

Emma asked, surprise evident on her face.

"But what about the missing villagers? What happened to them?"

"Okay, one, we reached a village to rest at because we were tired"

"And then?" Emma prompted, her voice laced with impatience.

"What happened after you reached the village?"

"We came across demons"

Emma's face went blank, the curiosity that filled her eyes was replaced with fear.

"W-what?"

"A-are you sure?"

Yuto huffed as he leaned back, throwing the stone on the desk.

"A demon general's stone"

Emma picked up the stone, inspecting it closely.

A look of horror crossed her face as she recognized the stone's significance.

"A general's stone... you're sure?" she asked, her voice trembling slightly.

"100 percent"

"I-I see… but that means that they're active once more"

Yuto gave a slight shrug as he leaned back, "All that matters is that the villagers are safe"

Emma took a deep breath and set the stone down.

"Yes," she said, her voice regaining more of its usual firmness.

"You saved the villagers and that's what matters most. Thank you, Yuto"

"But... this information about the demons," Emma continued, her face showing her worry.

"We need to report it to the king immediately. We'll need to increase security measures if the demon lords' generals are active again"

"..."

"Do what you must"

Emma nodded, her expression serious.

"I'll contact the king right away," she said.

"We'll need to inform him of this development and increase the security measures within the kingdom"

Yuto got up, about to leave when he felt Emma lean over her desk and grab the tail of his coat.

Emma spoke softly, her tone laced with worry.

"Yuto, wait a moment," she said, holding onto his coat.

"Ughhhhhh"

Emma chuckled faintly at Yuto's exaggerated reaction.

"Just a second, Yuto. I wanted to ask you something"

"Yes?"

She fiddled with her quill, her gaze studying Yuto.

"I just wanted to check in on you. You did a great job rescuing those villagers, but is everything else okay? Are you... alright?"

Yuto chuckled as he sat down, "Yeah, I just got into a fight with Luna and Catherine"

Emma arched an eyebrow, a smirk playing at the corner of her mouth.

"Oh?" she said, leaning back in her chair.

"A fight, you say? Care to elaborate? What happened?"

"A new girl named Lilith joined us but they don't seem too happy"

Emma's other eyebrow rose to join the first.

"A new girl, huh? And you're traveling with her?"

She chuckled lightly.

"No wonder Catherine and Luna aren't happy"

Yuto got up and flicked her forehead before sitting back down.

"Nothing of what you're thinking"

Emma rubbed her forehead, feigning pain.

"Ow! I was just saying," she protested, chuckling.

"I mean, you're traveling alone with two pretty girls, and then suddenly a new girl shows up. Can you blame them for being jealous?"

"Yeah yeah, so is that it?"

Emma rolled her eyes, a smirk on her face.

"Yeah, that's it," she said, waving him off dismissively.

"Go have a rest. You look like you need it"

Yuto nodded and got up to leave.

As he reached the door, Emma added one last comment.

"Oh, and Yuto?"

Yuto paused and turned back to look at her. "Yeah?"

"Just... be careful," Emma said, her tone serious.

"The demons being active again is worrisome. Be sure to keep a watchful eye and stay safe, alright?"

["...Dad…"]

"Got it"

Emma nodded, satisfied with his answer.

"Good, now go get some rest," she said, waving him off.

Yuto gave her a tired smile.

"Will do," he said, before exiting the office.

Closing the office door behind him, Yuto leaned against the wall and let out a weary sigh.

Dealing with demons and their antics was exhausting, and the tension between Lilith and Catherine with Luna still left him with a headache.

Sighing once more, he pushed off the wall and began making his way out of the guild.

As he walked closer and closer to the inn, he felt his mind collapsing with questions.

Would he lose more people?

Is it selfish to just relax for a bit?

Can he let someone else deal with it for just a moment?

As he approached his room, Yuto's thoughts were interrupted by the arguing coming from behind his door.

It sounded like Catherine and Luna, their voices muffled but distinctly loud enough to catch his attention.

"..."

"Should have seen this coming," and with a sigh, he opened his door to see that the bed was a crumpled mess of broken bed frame and shredded sheets.

The floor beneath it seemed to be held up by a thin line of magic around the circumference of the bed.

As he looked up he noticed that Catherine and Luna were clearly on edge, their expressions tight with anger, while Lilith... well, she seemed to be enjoying herself, a smirk on her lips as she goaded the two girls on.

"..."

"Of course," he muttered, the scene playing out before him making his headache only worse.

Catherine was the first to notice his presence, her eyes flicking to him as she turned to him.

"Yuto, finally!" she exclaimed, her voice laced with relief.

"You need to do something about her!"

She gestured towards Lilith, who was casually examining her nails.

Luna chimed in as well, her voice equally as filled with frustration.

"She's been driving us mad!" she said, trying to hold back her irritation.

"We've tried to stay patient, but she just keeps pushing and pushing"

Yuto pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling the tension in the room.

He glanced at Lilith, who was doing a poor job of feigning innocence.

"Lilith," he said calmly, his voice firm.

"What did you do this time?"

Lilith, who had been studying her nails before Yuto walked in, looked up from her hands.

She gave him an innocent smile, which somehow only made her look more untrustworthy.

"Me?" she asked, her voice dripping with mock innocence.

"I didn't do anything, Milord"

"Oh, really?" Yuto said, narrowing his eyes at her.

"Then care to explain why my bed is in pieces, the floor is held up by magic and the other two girls look ready to strangle you?"

Lilith chuckled, unconcerned.

"Oh, they're just exaggerating," she said, waving a hand dismissively.

"They're just mad that I've been spending time with you more than them. It's not my fault you prefer my company over theirs"

Catherine and Luna sputtered in disbelief, their faces reddening in anger, but Yuto held up a hand to silence them.

"Enough," he said firmly, his gaze still on Lilith.

"I think you've caused enough trouble for one day"

Lilith's smirk faded somewhat at his tone, but she tried to maintain her casual demeanor.

"I'm just having a bit of fun, Milord," she said, pouting slightly.

"They're so easy to rile up. It's not my fault they can't handle a bit of teasing"

Yuto sighed heavily.

He understood that Lilith's nature was mischievous, but he didn't have the energy to deal with her antics right now.

"I get that you like stirring things up, Lilith," he said, his voice strained.

"But can you at least try not to incite a riot every single day?"

Lilith rolled her eyes but relented a bit.

"Fine, fine," she said with a sigh.

"I'll tone it down a bit, for you, Milord"

She threw a smirk at Catherine and Luna, clearly enjoying their frustration.

The two girls huffed in annoyance but didn't rise to the bait.

Catherine crossed her arms, still bristling with anger, while Luna exhaled loudly through her nose, clearly trying to rein in her irritation.

["Fuck my life"]

"Okay, Cat, Luna, I got you two another room"

Catherine and Luna looked at Yuto, surprise momentarily replacing their anger.

"You... did?"

"Wait, really?"

The two girls exchanged glances and a hint of relief washed over their faces.

He turned to Lilith, "You are staying with me, okay?"

Lilith's mischievous smirk returned, her eyes gleaming with an almost wicked light.

"Oh? You want to share a room with me, Milord?" she asked, her voice sultry.

"I can't say I mind that one bit"

He pointed at the other two who had holy magic enveloping their hands.

Lilith followed his gaze and noted the holy magic surrounding Catherine and Luna's hands.

Her smile was replaced with a momentary flicker of surprise before she schooled her expression back into a smirk.

"Right," she said, her tone slightly less cocky.

"No funny business, I promise"

- Night time -

With the girls settling into their room, Yuto returned to his, now shared with Lilith.

Inside, he found Lilith lounging on the only bed left untouched, inspecting a book she had found on his desk.

Yuto closed the door behind him and leaned against it, watching Lilith for a moment.

She seemed to sense his gaze and looked up from the book, a sly smile on her lips.

"Enjoying the view, Milord?" she teased, closing the book.

"A bit"

Lilith chuckled and sat up a bit, the bed creaking under her weight.

She patted the spot next to her, a clear invitation beckoning him over.

"Come, sit beside me," she said, her voice low and inviting.

Yuto hesitated for a moment, eyeing the bed warily.

He knew that being so close to Lilith was a recipe for potential trouble.

But, he also didn't want to give her the satisfaction of refusing.

With a resigned sigh, he pushed off the door and joined her on the bed.

Lilith's smile widened as he sat down beside her.

She shifted closer, her body just a hair's breadth away from his.

"Relax, Milord," she said, her voice a sultry whisper.

"I won't bite... unless you want me to, of course"

Yuto could feel the heat of her body, and it was incredibly distracting.

His mind was screaming at him to put some distance between them, but his body didn't seem to listen.

He cleared his throat, trying to act nonchalant, "Why are you being so...friendly all of a sudden?"

Lilith giggled, shifting ever closer.

She leaned her head against his shoulder, the silky strands of her hair tickling his neck.

"Can't a girl be friendly with her favorite companion?" she said, her voice dripping with false innocence.

"Or is that not allowed?"

He bit his lip, the next few words that would come out of his mouth would decide their relationship for the rest of his life.
