"Kelsie doesn't need to know everything about me," Caleb said. "But enough about that spoilsport― I heard the news! How are you feeling? This is your second marriage, but it's even more ill-fated than ours. At least we made it out of city hall with our rings and wedding certificates."
"And that was just the first step into hell," Amelia quipped back with gritted teeth. "Excuse me, I must go."
As she tried to sidestep Caleb and leave, his arm shot out and grabbed her wrist. Amelia barely managed to dodge, and Ronan was quick to pull Amelia back a safe distance and out of Caleb's reach. Caleb clicked his tongue in annoyance just as Ronan cleared his throat warningly.
"Caleb Walton, mind your manners," he said. "Who are you to grab a random lady like that in public?"
"A random lady?" Caleb echoed with a bark of laughter. "Amelia was my wife. We are more than strangers and have done more intimate things than you can even imagine. Isn't that right, dear?"
