Ronan raised an eyebrow, curious.
Emmeline's words hadn't been forgotten― she had claimed that she tried to have a talk with Matteo on numerous occasions, only to be rebuffed by him time and time again. From what Amelia knew, there was no such thing― Matteo had made sure to stay so far away from her that there wasn't even a chance for her to approach him. Emmeline had also been very quiet in the days leading up to the wedding.
The only time she could've actually tried talking to Matteo — assuming she wasn't lying about the attempts — would've been at the wedding itself.
Matteo nodded. "She claimed she had something very important to tell me, so I went with her. After hemming and hawing for five whole minutes, she only asked if I was willing to marry you no matter what."
"And?" Ronan prompted.
"I said yes."
Ronan groaned into his hands. "Jesus, what a mess."
