I could barely keep my eyes off Helen who moved around the table, pouring tea into three delicate porcelain cups that was laid on a tray in front of me. The old lady that had emerged from the shadows as nothing but a frail, ancient woman was now unbelievably stunning. The transformation had taken place under my eyes, but everything still felt so surreal, like I had imagined an old woman emerge from the shadows.
Helen's white hair that was once a tangle of silver and white was now raven-black locks that gleamed under the soft light in the room. The wrinkles that lined her face had faded, replaced by a skin that was as smooth as a baby's rump, and it glowed like a morning star. Her beauty was now beyond a mortal's comparison.
I had been so numbed with shock that I couldn't speak, not to mention asking the numerous questions that flooded my mind. All I could do was make assumptions, ones that weren't adding up.
