Darkness was all I could see. Not even a shard of light was inside the building and my heartbeat was the only sound that drummed in my ears. Panic surged within me as I struggled to make sense of what was happening.
The hand that had dragged me inside had released its hold, and I stumbled backwards, trying to regain my balance in the pitch-black room, but I could still feel the burning sensation from where I was held.
"Who's there?" I couldn't stop my voice from trembling or even my legs from wobbling. The darkness offered no answers, and desperation swallowed my entire being as I tried to strain my eyes to see through the only blackness, but it was useless.
Normally, werewolves had a special ability of vision. Our vision was so good that we could see even in darkest of nights, but right now, it was as if an impenetrable blindfold had been placed over my eyes, blocking out any visible light from entering.
