The harsh wind whipped through the trees, lashing against my hair and dress with fury, and biting at my skin with cold. Goosebumps pricked along my arm as the cold seeped deeper into my bones.
Still, I followed behind Alexander as we walked further into the eerie forest without asking him questions to fuel my curiosity. It was hard to keep up with Alexander on the treacherous path we walked on. I had to raise my gown while I walked on the damp leaves, littered with gnarled roots.
After what seemed like an eternity, Alexander stopped when we got to a particular huge tree. He turned to me, his hair tousled by the wind that blew to his face, giving him a breathtaking appearance. "We're here," he said, earning a disturbed stare from me as I looked at the scene ahead of us.
