Street lamps can be seen emitting a soft glow of light as a young man and his dog walk down the side of the street. The dark outline of clouds can be seen as a sudden drizzle begins to flow down, causing the starry night sky to seemlessly reflect onto the road.
The sound of barking can then be heard over the rain.
"Rud, come on let's go!"
Jared can be seen pulling on the leash, however that is until it snaps, causing Jared to fall right onto the wet concrete and groaning in annoyance.
Jared then quickly gets up and desperately starts calling for his dog, "Rud! Come here boy!" However the sounds of barking can be seen fading and now it's an all out hunt to find his dog.
Jared quickly finds muddy paw prints and hurriedly follows them. As he nears the end of the paw prints, he can see his dog barking at a squirrel in a tree. Jared sighs as he goes to pick up his small but fierce animal.
"Rud, you have to come to me when I call you." Jared groans in annoyance while Rud just sits there with his tongue hanging out licking his face.
"Rud stop that I'm supposed to be mad at you right now." Jared laughs as he starts to head home with his dog cradled in his arms. Jared sighs, "I guess I'll have to get you a new leash."
As they walk, they rain slowly goes from a drizzle to a heavy down pour of water. Jared quickly holds his dog tighter to his chest as he runs back on his home, however he slips causing him to fall back on his back, the pain amplifying from his earlier fall.
Jared groans in pain as he gets back up onto his feet and starts walking again.
"I'm going to have back pain at 24 at this rate."
Jared looks down at his dog still cradled in his arms and lets him smiling now just embracing the down pour of rain.
"Rud you're paws are covered in mud and we're both soaked, I think we both deserve a nice warm shower."
As they continue to walk, his neighbors house can come into view. Jared's neighbors are on a trip so the house seemingly looks abandoned with the mail overflowing in the mailbox, the mail soaked from the rain.
Suddenly a sound of glass being broken can be heard, the sound so out of place in this quiet rainy night. Jared quickly looks around and noticed a shadowy figure infront of a window in his neighbors house. Rud immediately starts to growl and jumps out of Jared's arms and heads towards the robber at full speed.
"RUD COME BACK HER!"
Jared chases after Rud as he seems him biting the ankles of the robber.
The robber quickly tries to kick the dog away but Jared tackles him down pinning him there.
10 minutes later cops arrive at the scene thanking Jared and his best boy of a dog for stopping a robbery in progress.
Jared still soaked grabbed his dog and watches as the robber climbs into the back of the cop car covered in water that is shining red, white, and blue. He then turns around and starts walking home at a slower pace as the rain has loosened up.
As they arrive home he immediately takes off his jacket and puts Rud in the bath giving him a thorough wash before drying him off and taking a shower himself.
Jared then gets some warm clothes on and embraces the heat of his house happy that he didn't lose his life to that robber.
"Rud you're such a good boy, who knew you could help stop a robbery." Jared can be seen laughing to himself as he praises Rud before walking into his room and preparing to go to bed.
Jared's back slowly comes into contact with the soft mattress of his bed. He sighs contempt with life's journey today as he slowly falls asleep hearing the soft drizzle outside hitting the roof of hide house.
