Darkness.
Darkness my old friend of mine. Every time darkness is around there's always a memeory of mine that will always surface back to haunt me.
A loud scream echos around me as I look around in panic for the person screaming. The scream all to recognizable. I feel myself start to sprint into the darkness as the screams intensify.
"Samuel! Run mijo(son)!"
"Dad!" I stopped and looked around and still find nothing but darkness.
"Mijo, don't look back just run. We'll be ok! Just—Urgaaaah!!"
I hear my dad cry out in pain as loud gun shots erupt around me and a woman's scream resonates within me. I spin on my heels pivoting all around to find my mom.
"Mom! Where are you?!" I yelled out at to my mom, but get no response.
More gun shots boom around me and the the sound of two bodies hitting the floor behind makes me shiver in fear. I feel my body start to tremble as I slowly look over my shoulder. My eyes widening at the sight of my parents laying on the floor as blood pools around them.
Tears start to well up in my eyes as I start to slowly start to walk up to them. "No…" I let out a breath of disbelief. I reach out a hand towards them. I kneel beside their lifeless bodies and reach out to grab them.
"Samuel! Wake up!"
—————————————————
I jolt awake, roll to the side, jump to my feet , and bring out my handgun. Pointing my sights on three girls who look up at me in surprise and a hint of a little fear. I blink a few times as I clear a few spots in my vision and quickly rub them.
"Samuel… you ok?" Rebbeca calls out to me, almost afraid to be even asking.
I quickly bring down my sidearm and let out a breath that I didn't even know I was holding in. "Yeah… yeah, I'm good. Sorry you guys had to see that. Didn't mean to scare you." I put the pistol away and look around us. I see that we aren't dead, or in a hospital but outside in a grassy field with a few trees surrounding us and this big ass tree in the distance.
"Well ladies, seems like we ain't in Kanas anymore." I stated as I keep looking around our surroundings.
I hear Rebecca giggle softly and looks around herself. "Yeah, no shit Sherlock. But how did we even get here? We should be dead." I turn back to the group of girls and find them looking back at me. In all honesty I didn't even know either so I just shrugged my shoulders
"Hell if I fucking know. I'm just as lost as you three."
Before anyone can do or say anything, the girl with the white hair speaks up and grabs a hold of my arm. "Sam, why do you have a gun with you?"
I flinched a little at the tone of her voice that sounded like she wasn't happy to know I had one. I looked down at the floor, not knowing how to respond to her question. I didn't really want for her, or the other girls what I've been doing for the past 10 years.
"Luna, maybe this isn't the best time we should—" Naomi starts but is interrupted with a side look from hazeled eyed girl.
"Samuel— "
"Drop it, Luna. Right now is not the time to be asking those questions, and I don't want to answer those types right now. Right now we need to get our bearings together and find some city. Okay?" I gently, but firmly said so I can get my point across.
I felt her hand tighten around my arm. "Once we get that settled, can you tell us what's been going on?"
I let out a sigh and rubbed the back of my neck in thought. "Sure, Luna." I simply said.
"You promise?"
I scoff a little at that. "What is this, 4th grade?" I turn to look at here, but stop my next comment as she looks up at me with sad look. I glance up at the other two girls and see them looking at me the same way.
I groan out in frustration, scratching the top of my head. "Ok ok, fine. I promise to tell you three. Now can you get off my ass about this."
Naomi snickers a little. "Oh babe, the three of us will stay on that ass. You ain't going nowhere this time." She said with a wink. The other two girls faces flushed red as they turned away from me.
I just shake my head, letting a breath of a laugh. "You ain't changed much I see. Still saying some bone headed stuff at the wrong times"
"Pffft, you love it and you know it." She sticks out her tongue at me playfully. I flip her the middle finger, which in turn gets me witty ass reply.
"Gimme the time, date, and place. Don't keep me waiting." She says with kiss being blown at me.I shake my head once more while Rebecca and Luna just giggle at the display.
"Alright alright, enough of that now." I clap my hands together to get their attention. "We need to get out of this place and into civilization, cause I don't wanna be camping right now."
"Roger!" The three girls reply back in unison. This getting a smile from me as a memory came to mind. I do quick take of our surroundings and see nothing but grass, trees, bushes, and a few dirt roads. But the strangest thing that caught my attention was this huge tree in the distance.
A loud gasp erupts from behind making me pull out my pistol swiftly as I turn to look at Rebecca. She flinches back as she looks at me apologetically she squeaks out a sorry and I put away my pistol.
"Sorry. I just thought of something crazy, but…" pauses and looks over Naomi and looks back at her with tilt of her head. "Does this place look familiar to you guys?"
The four of us look around, taking in the surroundings. Finding nothing coming to mind. I look up the sky and hold up a hand to block out some of the sunlight. I squint my eyes a little. Doing this in turn made me squint further as I found not the flaming ball of fire, but giant crystals.
"What the fuck?" I said loudly. I point up to the ceiling so the girls can see what I'm looking at. "Those cystals!? On a cave cieling!?" And here I thought it was the damn sunlight the whole time. Though, I should have noticed the stone walls surrounding us. Should have been a dead giveaway for me.
"Rivira…" Rebecca said with astonishment.
"You don't think we actually came here, do you?" Naomi chimes in.
I look over to Luna who who seems to be gawking at the large tree. Her eyes sparkling with curiosity and childlike giddiness. While me over trying to figure if they know something that I don't know.
"You guys gonna leave me in the dark, or you know something about this place?" I asked, glancing towards the three.
They ignored me.
"Nooo, we can't actually be in Orario, but this looks like the 18th floor?"
"This was a safety point right? Monsters don't spawn here?"
"I think we're good! I remember the episode when they all get here."
I didn't know what the hell they were talking about and it was irritating me. Not knowing anything right now was really messing with my nerves. As if possibly dying and waking up in an unknown area isn't stressing enough.
"Hey! Can someone please tell me where the hell we are?" I asked loudly.
"Sam, you serious? Do you really not know where we are?" Luna looks at me with slight shock.
"Naaaah, of course I know where we are at." I smiled brightly as I throw my hands up in the air and do a little spin. "We're in some fucking cave of some sort that has fucking crystals that shine light like if they were the fucking sun!" I turn back to them with a deadpanned look as my arms drop to my sides. The girls couldn't help but cover up their laughs at the moment I had.
This got my right eye to twitch as I was ready flip again.
"Relax dude. No need to be all manic about this. But! Question? Have you ever watched anime?" Naomi asks.
"What kind of quest—…." I stopped midsentence as I realized what's going on. All three seemed to noticed that I've noticed what's happening from the face I was giving.
"No fucking way, there's no fucking way." I immediately started to deny the thought of being Isekaid.
"Uh, look around dummy. This ain't Los Angeles no mo. And this sure ain't heaven either." Rebecca says with a matter a fact tone.
I take off my hat and run a hand through my hair, deep in thought on the situation we are in. The girls seem familiar with this place from episode they've seen, but I have no clue what they're talking about or the anime they might be referring to. I'm still pretty much in the dark. Just how did we end up here in the first place? How did we end up in an anime that was made up? I just can't wrap my head around it. Does that multidimension universe shit actually exist?
My thoughts are interrupted from Rebecca's hand gently grabbing onto my trembling one. I honestly didn't even know I was shaking from how lost in thought I was. Guess I'm not taking this too well like they are.
"Samuel, relax." She softly giggles. "You always work yourself up."
The aura radiating from her had this calming affect on me, which in turn got me to calm down a bit. I took a few steady breathes, sensing my nerves starting to relax.
"You good?" Naomi comes up beside with small smile.
I nod my head towards her. "Yeah, I'm good now. Let's just get the fuck out of this place. I need fresh air."
