Chapter 6 - Take A Walk (Part 2)

"Sir, here is your coat and bag."

Dominic's attention was diverted when Rika returned with her briefcase and the coat she had previously asked for. Dominic stood up to let Rika help him put on his coat before running his hand through Alexa's hair gently.

"Then I will go now."

"Wait!"

Alexa quickly held Dominic's hand. She stared at the man for a long time before letting go of Dominic's hand, which she was holding awkwardly.

Seeing that Alexa wanted to talk, Dominic waited patiently for her to speak. There was not the slightest trace of impatience on his face, even though Alexa knew that the man was pressed for time at the moment.

"That... Can I come with you today? Um... You can just drop me off at the nearest town if I bother you. I want to go for a walk to get some fresh air," Alexa shyly asked. The woman looked at Dominic, who was silent for a moment, before smiling slightly.

"Of course you can, Alexa. How about you come with me to the city? You can stop by my office too. You must be curious about my job, aren't you?" Dominic asked. The man smiled on the surface, even though his eyes looked deep into Rika, who seemed to be frowning behind Alexa.

Hearing the offer, Alexa nodded in agreement. As she expected, her husband was sharp in assessing the situation. He knew Alexa didn't fully trust him, so proving everything he said was true was the only path Dominic could take.

"Then, please finish your breakfast first. Only after that, we will leave," said Dominic with a small smile. Alexa immediately ate her sandwich in large bites before nodding slightly at Dominic.

"Done. You're in a hurry, aren't you? We'd better get going now," she said as she got up from her sitting position.

"Remember to come to my office when you're done walking around. Don't stand for too long, and don't get separated from Rika, Baby," Dominic reminded Alexa for the umpteenth time. His face was pure worry when Alexa got out of his car. He looked at Rika, to which the girl nodded in return without Dominic needing to say anything.

"I'll be fine. See you later, Dom," said Alexa. Seeing that he was gently pushed away by Alexa, Dominic frowned slightly. He reluctantly nodded before rolling up the car window again.

"Then I'll go," he said quietly before the window closed completely. Alexa watched as the car completely disappeared from her sight before exhaling a long breath and turning to look at Rika who was standing behind her.

"Do you know a cafe that is close to this place? I want to relax first before going around," she said. Rika nodded before pointing to the intersection in front of them.

"If I remember correctly, there is a cafe not far from the turn to the left. I will take you there, Madam," said Rika. Alexa nodded. She just followed quietly as Rika led the way next to her. Alexa's forehead furrowed as her legs started to ache a little. She knew her legs were not strong. But Alexa didn't expect her condition to be that serious.

Luckily, Rika's estimate wasn't wrong. A simple cafe that looked warm appeared when they turned left. Alexa tried to endure the pain she felt and maintained a calm face. Her feet stepped into the cafe when Rika immediately asked her to sit down while she ordered a drink for Alexa.

After her legs could finally rest, Alexa breathed a sigh of relief. She slowly tried to massage her legs, looking up when Rika soon returned to sit in front of her.

"I have ordered drinks that you can drink, Madam. You are still in the healing stage. Therefore, the doctor specifically told me that there are several foods and drinks that you cannot consume," explained Rika.

Alexa took a deep breath. "Right. I'm still sick, aren't I?" she said resignedly while staring at the street outside.

"You will definitely recover later. Please don't feel sad. I'm sure... your memory will also return sooner or later."

Even though she got stuck in the middle of her sentence, Rika finally managed to say a comforting sentence to Alexa. Knowing Rika's intentions, Alexa smiled slightly. Even though she knew the possibility of her legs returning to normal was almost impossible.

"Okay. Thank you for cheering me up, Rika," said Alexa. Rika looks happy to receive thanks from Alexa. Her face brightened as she smiled back at Alexa.

"You're welcome, Madam," Rika said in reply. They turned around when the waiter came to take their order. Alexa straightened her body as she softly thanked the waiter.

"Please enjoy," said the waiter kindly before leaving. Alexa stared at the milk in front of her for a long time before finally letting out a small laugh.

"You know, for some reason, this situation feels familiar to me. The noise of people, the milk in my hand, and some small talk I had. You know Rika, for the first time, I can finally feel a familiar feeling again," Alexa whispered. Her hand moved to play with the glass in her hand, while Rika, who was originally sitting calmly, started to stiffen in her seat.

Is Alexa starting to recognize her surroundings? Does the drug no longer work? Was Alexa just playing with them this whole time?

All these questions started to fill Rika's head. She still tried to be calm on the outside, even though her heart was as panicked as a storm. Obviously, after this, she had to report to Dominic. The man had to know about this important discovery.

"Rika?"

The girl came back to her senses when Alexa called her. Rika smiled, looking at Alexa with her usual calm face.

"I'm happy for you, Madam," replied Rika. The girl just hoped that Alexa wouldn't see the change in her attitude earlier. She was too careless. Alexa shouldn't know anything for now.

This is also all for Alexa's good. After everything, Rika no longer wanted to see the bloody scene with her own eyes.
