Not good. Not good at all. In fact, not good is an understatement.
This answers our questions, Oli. He knows me from way before. But the new question now is: How the hell?
{"And why did he keep it from his son?"}
"Indeed," I said calmly, holding Oli's hand tightly. "Mom's genes were the strongest in me, in more ways than you could possibly imagine by yourself, Your Majesty." I spoke the last two words in a disgusted hiss. "So, do you care to tell me if you met me before or after the crypt?"
He licked his lips, "What if I say both?"
{"What the hell?"}
My words exactly. "Was it before and after, then?"
"What do you think?" Preston purred amused.
"I think you should be straightforward and throw the little games aside, uh? Because right now, if you hadn't noticed, you are interrupting my date with my mate," I snapped annoyed but in a deadly calm.
"That temper of yours was definitely inherited from both sides."
{"Can I butt in? I have some bitter things to say to him."}
No, please. Let me do this. I don't want you getting in trouble. Not for me, or for anyone else. I mean, unless it's unavoidable.
{"I don't mind trouble, you know that, right?"}
You are with me, Oli. I am trouble. Of course, I know that. "Maybe, but how would I know? The only blood family I know was my mother. All the others are absent and not seen as family to my eyes. Your mate is not my family and never will be. But I don't see her as the enemy," let's lie. We never know if he'll go back to her and spill every bloody word I say in here.
{"That is for the best, for now."}
"I've noticed. Your enemy is my daughter-in-law."
Not scowling was hard. "She's on the top of the list, yes."
Sigh, "Your father has no idea."
"He is not my father," I hissed. "My father is Cosmos. Blood does not mean a bloody shite to me. It doesn't matter if he knows or not, he's to blame for many of the shite that happened to me and my mother, his mate, knowing or not, it doesn't take his blame away," swallowing hard, I glared at him. "In fact, it's even worse that he doesn't know."
King Preston frowned, "How so?"
"If you don't see it, I won't be the one to open your eyes!"
{"Hah, look at his stupid face."} Oli grinned.
"You should try talking to him!" My said-grandfather exclaimed.
"I will do no such thing," I scoffed. "And you better not tell him to come to me. I am not my mother, and neither am I attached to your son or feel any good emotion towards him. There's only anger and resentment in me, for him. I will not be kind, contain myself, or care about any garbage he spills in front of me."
For the first time, he looked annoyed and uncomfortable. "I see you don't listen to reason. Seems like you got that from Freddy."
I tightened my grip on Oli's hand even more, "I got nothing from that son of yours, but everything from my true father. Again, I couldn't give two bloody fucks about blood relation, you should get that inside that head of yours, grandpa dearest. The one who raised me is my father, he's the one I took traits from, and the one who build me to be who I am now. If you think I'll go after your little useless son like an abandoned dog, you have no idea of how I do things. He is nothing to me."
"That is a regrettable decision, Rosa." the nick made me freeze.
"You aren't allowed to call me that!"
He arched an eyebrow, "I am the Supreme Dragon King."
"And I am not a dragon," I scoffed. "You are not my king."
Stunned, he turned to Oliver, "And his parents?"
"His parents are right under your sweet daughter-in-law in my list of enemies. And if you insist on this, I'll add your beloved son on it too," and you, piece of shite.
"Ruthless. I see what you got from that green idiot. Stupidity!"
Oliver stood up, "I advise you not to offend my mate, Bloom."
"So, you do speak, uh?" He mocked.
{"I'm going to knock him out if he keep this up, beautiful."} "You would better think before you say anything else to me or to her, Bloom. You do know what I can do, no?"
Blinking softly, the King raised his chin and took something from his collarbone, and when he took it out of the inside of his fancy tunic and let it lay over his chest, I clenched my jaw. "You can try."
Oliver, that's the amulet. It's identical to Meredith's.
{"There's two?"} He growled angered.
"What is that inside?" I asked playing dumb.
"Blood, of course," the King grinned viciously.
"Whose blood is that?" I tilted my head.
But he put on an innocent façade, "Whose blood do you think?"
Can you tell, Oli? He's close. Can you smell it.
{"I can."} But when his voice sounded weird, I turned to look at him and his face was pale. {"It's yours."}
Mine? Are you sure?
{"Beautiful, I think I know your blood quite well."}
But why would they use my blood?
{"Maybe the blood of winged serpents can neutralize stuff?"}
It's Felix who has null, Oliver. Not me. "Did you only came here to interrupt our peace and our date? Or are you going to buy anything?"
His eyes came to me, "I came here to find you."
Hah, of course, he did. "You did. Now, you can go."
"You are quite the deviant kid, are you not?" Preston smirked again. "Speaking like that with the Supreme Dragon King of the Ministry. Quite bolder than I thought you would be. Do you also acted like that near my mate? Or were you too scared of her?"
Again, I had to hold Oliver tightly, or he would have jumped on the King's throat. "Scared? Is that what you think I feel for her? Fear? Hah," I chuckled mischievously. "Adorable. Cute guess."
That took him off guard, "She killed your mother."
"Philippa killed my mother," he must be here to test me.
{"He's definitely testing my ability not to kill him with my hands."}
"My mate and Philippa killed Shay!" He insisted.
"Yeah? Were you there then? Because I was. I know what I saw."
Clenching his jaw, he closed his hands in fists, "I was not there, but I know precisely what my mate did to your mother. And you denying it is only a sign that you too are more under her claws than I thought you were. Seems like you won't be as much of a chaotic problem as I hoped."
What is that supposed to mean?
{"How would I bloody fucking know? Preston's suspicious."}
That might be an understatement. "If I didn't know better, I would think you're trying to put me against your mate," I grinned.
"Rub some brain cells together and figure that out," then he left.
