Chapter 75 - LXXV ||| Cosmic Father-in-Law

Oli frowned, "Dear lady, I can't imagine him as the fan boy type."

"Neither did I, until mom told me. She actually was glad that he's the one who took care of me and trained me. In fact, she said she had a vision of him training me when she was still alive, but she had no idea it would be on… these circumstances!"

He hugged my waist, "Can I ask you something?"

I narrowed my eyes, "What?"

"Can we stop by your mom's lair on our way up to your Kingdom?"

Oh? "Yes. In fact, I also want to stop by Abellona, she lives in a village at the bottom of the mountain. I want to talk to her about Mia, and see how she's doing. Meredith took Naël's life, and he was her friend. And she was also one of mom's best friends, same age, and she even thought I was my mom when she met me. Abellona cried and hugged me, and she was devastated when I told her everything. She's lonely, as Mia doesn't go there much, so I wanted to see her."

A nod, "I also want to meet her." Good.

"Eclipseball tournament, then we go see Annabelle, head to Everest and see Abellona, go to the lair, and up to the Emerald Sky City!"

He stole me a kiss, "Sounds like a deal. And where are we going to meet Annabelle, again?"

"The next waning moon is in eleven days, on February 13th, and it's the moon that was in the sky when I was born, like the one in the tattoo on my back. The night hour in the day of my birth is 5 pm, since I was born on April 5th. And the place mom used to tell me tales of, where the sun never shines and it always glows with moonlight is the Corse Woods of Death, in a phantom island in the middle of the pacific ocean."

"Corse Woods of Death, in February 13th, at 5 pm. That was a cool code that Nacht used. Only you would have guessed it since it's so personal," that was Nacht and Annabelle's point. "Now," he bend down a bit and opened one of the drawers of the island, then took out a fancy red wood big box and put it on my side. "I bought this for you."

I bit my bottom lip, "What is it?"

"Open it," he grinned taking two steps back.

"It better not be some kind of bomb, Oliver!"

He chuckled, "Not at all."

"Hm," I mumbled and turned to open the book, when I undid the gold winged-serpent lock, which I confess, was a cute detail, it opened up for all kinds of make up. Every bloody thing. "Make up?" I bit my lip.

"What do you think of it?" He tilted his head curiously.

"I loved. Everything, I mean. The dress, heels, and this. Especially the dress." That made him give me that smile. "I don't mind showing my scars or tattoos, but I bet most of them will be surprised."

He giggled, "And in awe. You are hot, babe. Believe me. And your tattoos make you fifty degrees hotter. Thank Crone I'm up to you and the task of being as hot as you are."

"Of course, you are," I glared. "Bloody hot. Godly sculpted."

Then he waved his inexistent long hair, "I know, I know. Now, shall we get dressed? We are holding well, but if we stay here just in towels, I doubt we will-" he stopped when Highway to Hell by AC/DC played on my phone. "Wait," in a second he faded to the bed and came back. "It's your father… I mean, that Cosmic arsehole," he mocked.

"Ugh, I forgot he said he would call tonight!"

"It's okay, beautiful. But put the sound for me to hear too."

"Okay, but stay shut, for the Crone's sake," doing what he told me, I held out the phone between us and pressed accept. "Hi, is everything fine? Did you get your arse kicked today?" I played.

He scoffed, "Hi, little hell's snake," ugh. "No. The phenomenon of someone being able to kick my arse only happens once in a millennial, and you did that already. But, are you alright?"

"Why wouldn't I be?"

"Any fights today?" Yes.

I gulped staring at Oliver who was grinning like a cat, "Yes. I did have quite the fight today."

"With whom? What race? Did you win?"

Ugh, how do I say this? "Yes? I mean, by the way it ended, I think it's my victory." That made him gasp in surprise. "I did get what I wanted from the person at the end of it," I licked my lips and Oliver blushed hard.

"Okay, but who was it? Why are you cutting information?"

I pressed my lips together, "Strauss-Khan. You know him?"

He gasped, "Hell if I do. And be more specific, Hel, unfortunately there are two Strauss-Khan in Belladonna right now, and in your class. Was it the walking-pain-in-the-arse or the cute-but-bites one?"

That took a laugh out of me, and Oliver covered his mouth not to gasp loudly. "Oliver-Sean Montgomery Strauss-Khan. By your description, I take that he's the walking-pain-in-the-arse, right? That would absolutely suit him."

Cosmos cursed, "Ugh, yes. That little fanged bitch," that also made me laugh. "I knew you would end up fighting him, given how temperamental you are, and how annoying he is. It would clash for sure. I'm glad you got what you wanted though. Did the old witch told you about the Eclipseball Festival in a week?"

So, that's why he called. "Yes. I'm with a team leader bracelet on my wrist right now," I looked at it, then back to my phone.

"I was busy all day kid, or I would have called before. I was with Meredith when she threw you to the fanged bastards, saying you would be the team leader instead of my nephew this year," sigh. "And those fanged motherfuckers did exactly what I thought they would, and threw their son to be the other team leader, again."

"Yeah, I know. But don't worry, I fucked his traditional pick."

He burst out laughing, "Oh, my. That's my kid. Who did you pick from his group? Who went to his group instead?" After I told it to him, with Oliver all annoyed about it, he burst out laughing again. "Agost and Nico? Oh boy, good luck with that. They are nothing compared to you, Hel."

"I know I'm amazing."

"You better fuck him up. I'll be there to watch. I want to give you something," a present? That's new.

"Oh, don't worry, father-in-law, she's definitely doing that!" Oliver the fucker, exclaimed loud, unable to keep his pretty mouth shut for even a minute. "She's pretty good at it."

I gasped, "Bastard, I told you to stay shut!"

Cosmos stayed silent for a long instant, "Wilhelmina, that better not be who I think it is!"

"Too bad," Oliver grinned. "I'll be on my best behavior, father-in-law, don't worry." I swear I'm going to kill him.

And by Cosmos gasped, I know he's in shock, "Hel! What the hell are you doing? Fraternizing with the enemy? Oh my Triple Goddesses. Kid, what the hell? Tell me you're joking. Is that what you got from him? Oh, my Ladies. I know he's good looking and all, but HEL!" He pretty much screamed my name.

"She's doing a lot more than fraternizing!" Oliver added.

"Fuck, Oliver. Shut the fuck up!" I threw him at the wall with my telekinesis and he chuckled loudly. "Ignore him, master. Ugh, I mean, yes, we made out a bit, but keep it a secret. Don't tell Meredith!"

"A bit is an understatement." I ignored him.

"Shite. I can't even say I'm surprise, since he's definitely like the type you showed to have when you were studying about the new world. And his powerful, but ugh, so troublesome. You two together are like a damned nuclear bomb," then he let out a deep breath. "Fine. I wouldn't tell Meredith even if you asked me."

I let out a sigh of relief, "Thank you, master. Really. Thank you."

Sigh, "Don't mind it, Hel. It's okay to live a bit, you needed it. But ugh, I'm annoyed that it was the walking-pain-in-the-arse one. Just careful, they bite and your blood is deadly even for them."

Before Oliver could say anything, I glared at him and he stayed shut as he understood what saying against that would mean. "Don't worry. I'm not a fan of biting," I lied. "He ain't getting close to my veins. I know the danger. It just was… kind of inevitable. I kind of like how he gets on my nerves."

Both laughed, "Aye. What did I create? Okay. I'll keep it a secret from Meredith. She's too busy with some Court things to care about what happens in the Academy, except for things that will get you the top spot. And you're going out with your number one enemy."

I bit my bottom lip, "I know. It kind of makes it better."

Again, he laughed, "Crazy girl. And you, vampire, is better to be in your best behavior and intentions. She may not be my blood-related child, but she's my kid. I won't spare you if you try anything."

Oliver seemed surprised, "I thought you would want to kill me. But don't worry. I know she's my enemy in the rankings, she made it very clear when we all met. She's the first kid in here who can fight against me, Felix aside, but really fight. You really build a monster. In fact, everyone else is scared, even Rio."

That made him laugh again. "Why would I waste my time killing you? There aren't many good fighters like you out there, fanged-walking-pain-in-the-arse. I respect that. This world deserve more kids like you and Hel. I still hate your arse, though. So, don't hurt my kid, or I'll change my mind and murder you on the worse way I know of."
