Chereads / Hel and the Emerald Sky City / Chapter 37 - XXXVII ||| Jealousy, Jealousy

Chapter 37 - XXXVII ||| Jealousy, Jealousy

["He's genuinely jealous, Hel."]

That's his problem. If we break the mating bond, he won't feel like this for someone he doesn't even know anymore. "How would I tell? I wouldn't even know he's your little brother if Felix hadn't told me when I asked him who you and your bunch of the Circle were." I pointed at Jack, "I can only tell your races because Jack keeps telling me every time I meet someone knew."

We passed by an auditorium in which some kids were playing Louder Than Bombs by BTS, like angels, which made me halt, "Sirens," he said when he noticed me looking. "Best singers in Belladonna."

"It would be embarrassing if they weren't." I got back to walking, "Are you a long sword guy, vampire?"

"My sword is definitely long, and thick, babe. But you'll feel good."

I gasped feeling my face burning, "How can you be so lustful?"

"You happened," he grinned. "I'm half messing with you," half? "Why? Do I look like someone who uses a long sword to you?"

Licking my lips, I analyzed him with a side-eye, "Long sword and daggers. Maybe both?" Like me. "You are definitely not a bow and arrow kind of guy, that much I can tell," gulping, I looked away as a bunch of unholy thoughts took over my mind again. "So?"

"I don't know how you did it, but you're right. Long sword and daggers. But the later is my favorite weapon." As I imagined.

Shrug, "I have an eye for that. You have a fighting stance that is annoyingly similar to mine. When you learn to read into people's fighting stances, you are able to tell what is the weapon they are most comfortable with, and the ones they have a weaker spot against," summoning my bottle of water from my ring, I took a long sip of it, then send it away again. "As yours is similar to mine, I was able to tell you either uses a katana or a long sword, and definitely daggers."

"And the weapon I'm not so great against?"

Same as mine, "Scythe."

He let out a impressed sound, "Is that yours too?"

"Bloody straight. I'm better at fighting with it than against it. Unless both me and my opponent are both using scythes. But we know that never happen in a real life-and-death fight, as we tend to attack with the weapons we are most comfortable with. And I would fight with a scythe either, if I have the opportunity to use a katana or my daggers," then I summoned a pair of twin daggers of twisted-edged blades made of turquoise and sapphire together with diamond.

Oliver stared at me as if I had grown a second head, "You do not need to give them to me, Hel."

"Ruby is said to be a vampire gem," then I summoned the one from the tattoo on the left side of hip, a long double-edged sword made of ruby with an ornamented handle of obsidian. "Take it!"

He gulped, and to my surprise, his cheeks blushed, "Why?"

I rolled my eyes, "You're jealous of your brother because I gave a weapon to him, aren't you not? Or because I gave two to Felix?" As I asked that, he tensed up and clenched his jaw, proving my point. "I'm giving you three, Oliver. Take it, I will not offer again. Besides, until I find or make a way to break this…" I pointed from me to him, "bond between us, we are what we are. So, I feel like you deserve a weapon that will bring out the best of your abilities in a fight, no?"

Pushing both the daggers and the sword to him with me telekinesis, I turned around, feeling weird with the way he's staring at me as if I had gave him a diamond ring and asked for his hand in marriage.

"Furthermore, don't forget that I'm here to take your place as the top student of Belladonna. I can't fight someone who has a shabby weapon, when I have such masterpieces at my will, can I? That wouldn't be fair with you, and fighting is only pleasurable when it's in a fair combat," opposite to what mom was given when she died.

"I would kiss you if I didn't knew you would punch me in the face," what? "Thank you, Hel. And don't worry, I'll make you fall in love with me. You will fall so hard that you will forget any stupid idea of breaking our mating bond."

["We can't say he doesn't has determination!"]

He's delusional, Jack. "You can try, but I won't change my mind."

"Can I try? Will you let me?" He faded to be in front of me.

I gulped. What do I do?

["Let him try. Didn't you say nothing will change your mind?"]

"You can try. But don't have expectations. It's a fool's deal."

But the grin he gave me told me I had just signed up for my doom. "It's a promise then. You will let me try to make you fall in love with me, so, you can't stop me anymore, okay?"

"I'll still be trying to find a way to break the bond," falling in love or no, it won't change, it'll only make me want to break the bond harder. This is for his safety, not mine. "And I'm not promising to go along with you shite, got it?" I glared at him. "I will also not put up with your jokes, and I will not stop going after your 1st place, neither will I get away from anyone just because you're jealous."

To my dismay, he came closer and kissed my left cheek, "You are sooooo going to love me by the end of the year, beautiful."

He just kissed my cheek.

He. Kissed. My. Cheek.

I'm not freaking out internally. No. "Don't call me that!" I groaned.

"Too bad. I genuinely mean it," he winked and played with his new daggers like a kid with a new toy. "Damn, these are really insane. No one lied when they talked about the difference of a legendary weapon made by Shay Miralanthor," then he tried it out the sword. "Bloody awesome."

"Oh, yeah, another of your boys also got one of the weapons," I provoked him, and by how he stopped and turned to me with bloody eyes, it definitely worked.

"What? Who? When?" He hissed.

["You like to provoke him!"]

Of course, I do. He looks so hot when he's mad. "Cotton candy baby blue hair. The annoying cute one. What's his name? Oh, yes, Rio!" I swear he looked like he was about to murder someone.

"Cute?" He clenched his jaw. "When?"

I grinned amused, "He popped up on my way to Mia's office."

"And you gave it? Even though he messed with you yesterday? You being too cool, aren't you?" Oh, he's bitter.

Rolling I shoulders, I got back to walking, "Why wouldn't I? I may not be a dragon obsessed with riches, but I do enjoy money a lot. I mean, yes, you all have absolutely no idea of how filthy rich I am, but I still like the idea of getting more."

He frowned confused, "Wait. You gave it, or you sold it?"

"Sold it, of course. Why would I give it to him out of nowhere when he messed with me yesterday?" I flashed my fangs in amusement when his beautiful face was painted with shock. "Seven, zero, zero, zero, zero, zero euros."

"Seven hundred thousand?" A nod. "You should have asked for 7 millions," oh? "Rio is the heir of the richest Greek family in the world, and a born vampire family at that. But it was better than giving it for free."

Never thought he had it in him. "Are all heirs in here rich like that? You think they would pau 7 million for the weapons?"

Oliver grinned, his anger turning into mischievousness, "They might even pay more than that to get their hands in a Shay Miralanthor original. After she vanish twenty centuries ago, her weapons became legendary, as no one could ever get their hands on them anymore. The strongest people who were alive before she vanish all have a weapon made by her, since she may have worked on the Royal Dragon Court, but she accepted commissions without discrimination."

Looking at the sky, I giggled softly, "It's not that she didn't had prejudice with the other races, Oliver, it's that she didn't discriminate gold," mom was that simple minded. "As long as you would offer her a great sum of money, she would always accept it, no matter how easy or complicated your wish was, she would craft it for you. Be it weapons or clothes. She would do it gladly if it meant more money ok her lair," thanks to that I'm this rich now.

"You knew her," it wasn't a question and there was no judgement.

Maybe that's why I found myself turning to meet his eyes and said, "I did yes. Better than you can imagine."

He nodded, "She was your mom, wasn't she?" His eyes gentle.

Painfully gentle. "Yes," sigh. "She's my mom."
